Rain or Shine: Creating a Foolproof Backup Plan for Outdoor Weddings
Ah, the dream of an outdoor wedding—golden sunsets, fresh air, and a backdrop straight out of a fairytale. But let’s be real: Mother Nature does not check the wedding forecast before making plans. And while a little drizzle can be romantic, a full-blown storm? Not so much. That’s why a rock-solid Plan B is a must for any outdoor celebration. Here’s how to make sure you’re covered (literally and figuratively).
1. Love Your Plan B as Much as Plan A
The key to a stress-free wedding day? Making sure you actually like your backup option. Whether it’s a chic indoor venue, a clear-top tent with twinkling lights, or a cozy barn, choose something that still fits your vision. No one wants to be stuck in a last-minute rental hall that feels like a high school cafeteria.
2. Book That Tent Early
If a tent is your backup plan, don’t wait to book it. Good rental companies get snatched up fast—especially during peak wedding season. And don’t skimp on the extras: sidewalls, flooring, and heating or cooling can make a huge difference in guest comfort.
3. Think Beyond Rain—Prepare for Any Weather Curveball
Spring wedding? Watch out for wind. Summer soirée? Make sure guests aren’t melting. Have fans, umbrellas, blankets, or even a cute hot cocoa bar ready to go.
4. Keep Guests in the Loop
Nobody wants to show up in stilettos for a muddy lawn ceremony. If there’s a chance of venue changes, let guests know in advance via your wedding website, and have a last-minute communication plan (group texts, email updates, etc.).
5. Embrace the Unexpected
Rain on your wedding day isn’t just an Alanis Morissette lyric—it’s good luck! And with the right mindset (and a planner who’s got your back), your day will be incredible no matter what.
The Wedding Weekend Experience: Planning Events Beyond the Big Day
Why limit the celebration to just one day? Wedding weekends are the ultimate way to turn your wedding into a full experience for you and your guests. Here’s how to plan a seamless and unforgettable wedding weekend.
1. Kick Things Off with a Welcome Party
A welcome event is a great way for guests to mix and mingle before the wedding day. It can be as casual as a pizza night at your Airbnb or as elegant as a rooftop cocktail party. Bonus: It helps break the ice for guests who don’t know each other yet!
2. Plan Group Activities for Different Interests
Give guests options to explore the area or enjoy activities at their own pace. Think:
- For the adventurers: A morning hike or a group yoga session
- For the foodies: A local wine or brewery tour
- For the chill crowd: A casual brunch or spa day
Having flexible, optional activities lets guests tailor their experience while keeping the energy up all weekend.
3. Rehearsal Dinner (or Something Different!)
The traditional rehearsal dinner is a great way to gather close family and the wedding party, but couples are getting creative with this event. Consider a casual backyard BBQ, a taco truck night, or a sunset cruise instead.
4. Keep Guests in the Loop
A wedding weekend itinerary is essential. Whether you print a schedule or create a wedding website, make sure guests know where to be and when. Include any transportation details, dress codes, and local recommendations.
5. End on a High Note with a Post-Wedding Brunch
A farewell brunch is a perfect way to wrap up the weekend, say final goodbyes, and relive the best moments from the wedding day. Keep it simple with coffee, mimosas, and easy breakfast bites.
A wedding weekend gives you more quality time with loved ones, and when planned well, it turns your wedding into an unforgettable getaway for everyone involved.
The Art of Hosting: How to Make Any Event Feel Special and Seamless
Being a great host isn’t about perfection—it’s about making people feel welcome, comfortable, and entertained. Whether you’re throwing a dinner party, a milestone birthday, or a corporate event, these hosting tips will help you pull off a flawless gathering with ease.
1. Set the Tone with the Invitation
A well-thought-out invite sets expectations. Whether digital or printed, include all the details guests need—date, time, location, dress code, and any fun extras (theme, potluck contributions, etc.).
2. Curate the Atmosphere
Lighting, music, and décor create an instant vibe. Dim lights, candles, or twinkle lights set a cozy mood, while a well-planned playlist keeps energy levels just right throughout the event.
3. Keep the Flow Moving
No one wants awkward downtime. Plan your event so guests always have something to engage with—cocktails on arrival, a fun icebreaker, interactive food stations, or a well-timed toast to transition between activities.
4. The Power of a Signature Drink
A welcome cocktail (alcoholic or not) makes guests feel instantly included. It also gives your event a personal touch—think “Peyton’s Paloma” for a birthday or a themed spritz for a summer gathering.
5. Food & Drinks: More is More
If people are eating and drinking happily, your event is already a win. Plan for a variety of dietary preferences, and always have extra drinks and snacks on hand. Hungry guests are cranky guests.
6. Have a Few Surprises Up Your Sleeve
The best events have an element of surprise—think live entertainment, an unexpected guest appearance, or a midnight snack bar that shows up just as people start thinking about heading home.
7. Be Present (and Enjoy!)
Your energy sets the tone for the event. If you’re running around stressed, guests will feel it. Plan well, delegate when possible, and make time to enjoy the moment.A great event is about making people feel at ease while keeping the experience engaging. With a little thought and a lot of heart, you’ll have guests raving about your party long after the last drink is poured.
REAL WEDDING – Jordyn + Peyton: A Love Story Full of Heartfelt Moments
Some weddings are beautiful, some are emotional, and some are just pure magic—Jordyn and Peyton’s wedding was all three. From the moment these two college sweethearts said “I do,” there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Their wedding was a true celebration of love, family, and the kind of deep connection that makes you believe in forever.

A Proposal by the Sea
Peyton knew that when he popped the question, it had to be somewhere meaningful. So, with the waves as their backdrop and Jordyn’s family by their side, he got down on one knee at the beach in her hometown. It was the perfect beginning to their forever—a moment filled with love, support, and a whole lot of happy tears.
The Dress, The Style, The Details
Jordyn found her dream dress at Bianca Bridal, a charming boutique in Michigan. Her bridesmaids had the freedom to choose their own dresses, creating a unique and personalized look that reflected each of their styles. Meanwhile, Peyton and his groomsmen looked sharp in classic suits rented from Jos A. Bank.
The wedding style? Romantic and timeless. Every detail, from the florals to the ambiance, was designed to reflect Jordyn and Peyton’s love—warm, heartfelt, and full of beauty.

A First Look to Remember
While the entire day was filled with incredible moments, Jordyn and Peyton’s first look was the one that stole the show. Seeing each other for the first time, all dressed up and ready to say “I do,” was an unforgettable, emotional moment. It was just the two of them (well, plus a few happy tears from the photographers and planners!), soaking in the reality of the day ahead.
An Unforgettable Celebration
From heartfelt vows to emotional speeches that left the entire room in tears, this wedding was full of love in every sense. Peyton, the true gentleman that he is, set the tone for a wedding filled with kindness, warmth, and respect—something that was mirrored by both families as they celebrated this incredible couple.
As their wedding planner, it was a joy to see how much love surrounded Jordyn and Peyton—not just from each other, but from every single person in the room. Their wedding was more than just an event; it was an experience, a moment in time that truly captured their love story.
Advice for Future Couples
Jordyn’s biggest tip for engaged couples? Don’t sweat the small stuff. The little details won’t matter on the big day, but what will matter is soaking in every second of it—because it goes by fast!
Jordyn and Peyton, thank you for trusting me with your big day. Your love is inspiring, and your wedding was nothing short of magical. Cheers to forever!

Seating Chart Strategies: Making Guest Arrangements Easy and Drama-Free
Creating a seating chart for your wedding can feel like putting together a giant puzzle—with personalities, relationships, and logistics all in the mix. But with the right strategy, you can make the process smooth, stress-free, and even (dare I say) fun! Let’s break down how to create a seating plan that keeps the peace and maximizes the guest experience.
1. Start with the Floor Plan
Before assigning seats, get familiar with your venue’s layout. Where’s the dance floor? Where’s the bar? Knowing the traffic flow will help you position tables strategically so every guest has a great experience.
2. Prioritize Key Guests
Your VIPs—parents, wedding party, and close family—should get prime seating with a clear view of the action. If you’re having a head table, decide whether it will include just the two of you, your wedding party, or family members.
3. Group Guests Thoughtfully
Seat guests based on who they’ll enjoy spending time with. Mix social butterflies with quieter guests, keep friend groups together, and avoid placing exes or feuding relatives at the same table (unless you’re in the mood for reality-TV-style drama—spoiler alert: you’re not).
4. Consider Special Needs
Ensure elderly guests, guests with mobility concerns, or parents with young children have easy access to restrooms and exits.
5. The Plus-One Puzzle
If your guests are bringing plus-ones, seat them where they’ll feel comfortable—near their partner’s friend group or in a welcoming mix of guests. No one wants to feel like the odd one out.
6. Use a Seating Chart Tool
Whether it’s an online tool like Prismm formerly AllSeated or a good old-fashioned sticky-note method, having a visual layout makes adjustments easy.
7. Communicate Clearly
Escort cards, seating charts, or table numbers should be clear and easy to find. The last thing you want is a traffic jam at the entrance while guests wander around looking for their table.
A well-thought-out seating plan ensures guests feel comfortable, conversations flow naturally, and your reception runs smoothly. A little planning upfront = a drama-free night of celebration!
The Ultimate Guide to Wedding Reception Layouts
The right reception layout can make or break the flow of your wedding! Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate dinner or an all-night dance party, setting up your space correctly is key. Here’s how to design a layout that keeps guests comfortable and engaged.
1. Consider Your Guest Count
Your guest list plays a huge role in your setup. A large guest count might benefit from banquet-style seating, while a smaller wedding could embrace lounge areas and intimate table arrangements.
2. Maximize the Dance Floor
Your dance floor should be the center of the action! Position it near the DJ or band and keep seating areas close so guests feel encouraged to join in. Avoid placing tables too far away—it keeps the energy up!
3. Optimize Flow for Comfort
Guests should be able to move freely without congestion. Ensure that food stations, the bar, and entertainment areas are easily accessible. A well-thought-out layout keeps guests engaged and prevents bottlenecks.
4. Mix Up Seating Styles
Gone are the days of only round tables! Mix in long banquet tables, high-top cocktail tables, and lounge seating to create a dynamic and inviting atmosphere.

5. Personalize Your Space
Use your layout to enhance your theme! Whether it’s a cozy lounge area for an intimate vibe or a dramatic head table under twinkling lights, the right setup transforms your space into a memorable experience.

REAL WEDDING – Jordan & Annemarie: Welcome to Camp McClain

Hello there, lovebirds! Get ready for a love story that starts in a dive bar and leads to a wedding filled with warmth, laughter, and a whole lot of heart. Jordan and Annemarie’s wedding at Camp McClain was the perfect blend of rustic charm and personal touches, and I can’t wait to share the details with you!
From Dive Bar to ‘I Do’
Jordan and Annemarie’s love story began in the kind of place where true love lives— a local dive bar with $5 beers and plenty of character. From that fateful meeting, their journey led them to an unforgettable proposal in the breathtaking landscapes of Sedona.
Jordan, knowing that Annemarie has a knack for uncovering surprises, planned a weekend getaway around her birthday to throw her off the scent. During what was supposed to be a scenic (but much longer than anticipated) hike, they stopped midway overlooking the mountains. With a tripod set up, Jordan got down on one knee, said words so beautiful neither of them remembers them, and asked Annemarie to be her wife. Annemarie’s response? A loud and enthusiastic “YEP!”
The Dress, The Suit & The Wedding Style
When it came to finding the perfect dress, Annemarie said yes to the dress at Strut Bridal, while Jordan went the custom route with a suit from Nick’s Menswear. Their wedding party looked effortlessly chic in bridesmaid dresses from Azazie.com and groomsmen attire from Stitch & Tie.
The overall wedding style? A warm, rustic aesthetic that made every moment feel intimate and inviting.
The Most Important Part of Planning
For Jordan and Annemarie, it wasn’t just about the look of the wedding—it was about the feeling. They wanted their guests to feel the warmth of their love and the coziness of their carefully designed rustic space. And judging by the way their loved ones gathered, celebrated, and soaked in every moment, they achieved just that.
The Best Part of the Day
After all the excitement of the day—the vows, the cheers, the dancing—Jordan and Annemarie’s favorite moment was sitting down for dinner and watching their loved ones enjoy a meal together. There’s something magical about seeing all your favorite people in one place, laughing and sharing stories, knowing they came together to celebrate you.
Pro Tips from the Brides
If you’re planning your wedding, Jordan and Annemarie have two golden pieces of advice:
💌 MAKE A SEPARATE EMAIL ADDRESS JUST FOR WEDDING STUFF. Trust them, your inbox (and sanity) will thank you.
💍 Hire a coordinator (Jeanette specifically!). Let’s just say, they know from experience that having someone to handle the details makes all the difference!
Why They Chose I Do Details
Jordan and Annemarie knew from the start that they wanted me (Jeanette!) on their wedding team. After watching me in action at another wedding, they knew I’d be essential in bringing their vision to life. And let me tell you—helping these two create the wedding of their dreams was an absolute joy.
From the first ‘YEP’ to the last dance, Jordan and Annemarie’s wedding was a celebration of love, laughter, and the beauty of the unexpected. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness, adventure, and maybe a few more dive bar date nights! 💛

With the most popular engagement times (The Holidays & Valentine’s Day) upon us, I just want you all to be prepared. Planning your wedding should be exciting, not overwhelming! With so many decisions to make, it’s easy to feel stressed, but don’t worry—we’ve got expert tips to keep you on track and enjoying the process. Here’s how to plan with confidence and keep the stress at bay.
1. Set Priorities from the Start
Before diving into details, sit down as a couple and decide on your top priorities. Is it an epic dance floor? A gourmet dining experience? A breathtaking venue? Knowing what matters most will help you focus your budget and avoid unnecessary stress.
2. Create a Realistic Timeline
A well-planned timeline is your best friend! Start by setting major deadlines, like booking a venue and selecting vendors, and then break tasks down into monthly to-dos. Need expert guidance? That’s where a wedding planner (like me!) can help streamline the process.
3. Lean on Your Vendors
Your vendors are professionals—they do this all the time! Trust their expertise, ask questions, and communicate your vision. A great vendor team will make your day run smoothly and alleviate unnecessary stress.
4. Don’t Overload Your Pinterest Board
Inspiration is great, but pinning hundreds of ideas can leave you overwhelmed. Instead, refine your vision by saving a handful of cohesive images that truly reflect your style. Less is more when it comes to decision-making!
5. Take Time to Enjoy the Process
Wedding planning should be fun! Schedule “wedding-free” date nights, celebrate milestones, and remember why you’re planning this day in the first place—to celebrate your love!

Your wedding menu can do more than fill stomachs—it can tell your love story. From signature cocktails to curated dishes, here’s how to design a menu that’s as personal as your vows.
Signature Drinks with a Story
Create signature cocktails that represent you as a couple. Maybe it’s a margarita inspired by your first vacation or a mocktail that nods to your sober journey together.
Highlight Your Heritage
Bring your cultural backgrounds into the mix with dishes that pay homage to your roots. Fusion menus or cultural stations are a great way to share your story while offering unique culinary experiences.
Seasonal and Local Menus
Celebrate the time of year with a menu that highlights seasonal ingredients. Locally sourced foods not only taste better but also support local farmers and suppliers.
Interactive Food Stations
Take your menu to the next level with interactive stations, like a build-your-own taco bar, gourmet mac-and-cheese station, or sushi-rolling demonstration. These add a fun and social element to your reception.
Breaking the Ice: Fun Ideas for Wedding Reception Activities
Your wedding reception is more than just a party—it’s the first celebration of your new life together! LEt’s work with your DJ to keep the energy high and your guests engaged with fun activities that encourage connection and laughter.
Game On

Interactive Guest Books
Upgrade the classic guest book with something interactive, like a photo booth where guests can attach their pictures alongside notes or a video station where they can record heartfelt messages.
Surprise Performances
Hiring a dance troupe or second line. Guests love an element of surprise, and this is a guaranteed way to get everyone on their feet.
Silent Disco Sensation
Take your dance floor to the next level with a silent disco! Equip guests with wireless headphones that play different music channels, allowing everyone to groove to their preferred beats. It’s a fantastic way to cater to diverse music tastes while keeping the party alive and buzzing. Milestone Celebrations: Making Birthdays, Anniversaries, and More Unforgettable
Life’s milestones deserve to be celebrated in style! Whether it’s a big birthday, a golden anniversary, or a retirement party, these special occasions are the perfect opportunity to bring loved ones together and create memories that will last a lifetime. Here’s how to elevate your milestone celebration into an extraordinary event.
Personalize the Experience
The key to a standout celebration is tailoring it to the guest of honor. Start by thinking about their personality, interests, and favorite things. For instance:
- Birthday Bash: Celebrate a wine lover with a vineyard party or a chic wine-and-dine experience.
- Anniversary Party: Highlight the couple’s journey with a timeline of photos or a video montage.
- Retirement Celebration: Incorporate elements of the retiree’s career achievements or hobbies they’ll enjoy in retirement.
Personal touches like custom party favors, bespoke menus, and tailored playlists show thoughtfulness and make the event extra special.
Choose a Unique Venue
The venue sets the tone for the celebration. While traditional banquet halls work, consider going for something unexpected:
- Host a garden party at a local botanical garden for a 50th birthday.
- Rent a chic rooftop space for a sophisticated anniversary soirée.
- For a casual retirement party, think about a private beach house or a rustic barn.
Unique venues create an experience beyond the ordinary and make for stunning photos!
Creative Themes and Decor
Themes give events an added wow factor, and they don’t have to be over the top to make an impact.
- For a milestone birthday: A “Through the Decades” party highlights the honoree’s journey through fun era-specific decor.
- For an anniversary: Use the couple’s wedding colors or their favorite travel destination as inspiration.
- For any milestone: Statement decor like balloon installations, personalized backdrops, or floral displays can transform a space.
Entertainment That Delights
Entertainment can elevate any event, so don’t hesitate to go beyond the standard DJ or playlist. Consider options like:
- A live band or string quartet for a sophisticated vibe.
- Interactive stations like a photo booth or caricature artist.
- Games or trivia tailored to the guest of honor.
For a retirement party, a heartfelt roast or speech session can be a fun and emotional touch.
A Menu to Remember
Food is at the heart of any good celebration! From grazing tables to gourmet plated dinners, your menu should fit the event’s vibe. Be sure to include dietary-friendly options, and consider incorporating the honoree’s favorite dishes or cuisines. Signature cocktails or mocktails themed to the event are always a hit.
Send Guests Home Happy
Thank your guests with thoughtful party favors that tie into the event’s theme. Ideas include:
- Custom cookies or chocolates.
- Mini bottles of champagne or wine with a personalized label.
- Seed packets or small potted plants for a garden party.
With attention to detail and a focus on personalization, you can create a milestone celebration that truly stands out. Every occasion deserves a little extra magic, so don’t hold back when planning these once-in-a-lifetime events!

Save the Date! When and How to Announce Your Big Day
Congratulations! The date is set, the venue is booked, and it’s time to share the news with your loved ones. Announcing your wedding date is one of the most exciting moments of wedding planning—it makes everything feel so real! But when should you send your save-the-dates, and what should they include? Let’s dive into everything you need to know about save-the-dates, from timing to creative ideas.
When to Send Save-the-Dates
Timing is key when it comes to save-the-dates. Here’s a general guideline:
- Destination Weddings: Send your save-the-dates 8–12 months in advance. Guests will need extra time to plan, book travel, and arrange accommodations.
- Local Weddings: For most weddings, sending save-the-dates 6–8 months ahead is perfect. This gives guests plenty of notice to mark their calendars.
If your wedding date falls during a busy season—like summer or the holidays—it’s always better to err on the earlier side.
What to Include on Your Save-the-Dates
Save-the-dates are meant to provide essential information without overwhelming your guests. Here’s what to include:
- Your Names: Make sure guests know who’s getting married!
- The Date: The main attraction—your wedding date!
- Location: You don’t need to list the full venue address, just the city and state will do.
- “Formal Invitation to Follow” Notice: Let guests know more details are coming later.
Optional additions:
- Wedding Website: If you’ve created a site, include the link for guests to find additional information.
- Accommodation Details: For destination weddings, mention nearby hotels or block reservations if they’re already set up.
Creative Save-the-Date Ideas
Save-the-dates are a great way to showcase your personality and wedding style. Here are a few fun ideas to inspire you:
- Classic Cards: A tried-and-true option that’s easy to customize with your wedding theme.
- Magnets: Perfect for guests to stick on their fridge, so they don’t forget your special day.
- Photo Booth Strips: Use your favorite engagement photos to add a personal touch.
- Video Save-the-Dates: Send a short, fun video announcement to surprise your guests.
- Postcards: Especially great for destination weddings, these add a travel-themed twist.
Tips for Making Save-the-Dates Stand Out
- Match Your Theme: If you already have a wedding color palette or vibe (elegant, boho, modern), incorporate it into your design.
- Personalize It: Use a favorite quote, an inside joke, or photos that represent your relationship.
Why Save-the-Dates Matter
Your save-the-date is the first official impression of your wedding. It sets the tone for your big day and helps your guests plan accordingly. Whether you go traditional or get creative, this small gesture ensures your loved ones can share in your celebration without any last-minute surprises.Get ready to make some magic and officially kick off the countdown to your big day! ✨
Engaged? Here’s What to Do First!
Introduction
Congratulations! The question was popped, the ring is shining, and now it’s time to dive into the exciting world of wedding planning. But where do you even start? Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered with the ultimate guide to your first steps as an engaged couple.
1. Celebrate Your Moment
Before diving into logistics, take a moment to revel in your engagement. Host an engagement party, post those dreamy photos, or enjoy a quiet dinner with your fiancé. This is your time—soak it all in!
2. Set Your Budget and Priorities
Talk about finances early to avoid stress later. Knowing how much you’re working with and what matters most (venue, dress, food) will help shape your planning.
3. Choose Your Date
Your wedding date will guide every other decision. Whether it’s a sentimental date or just a season you love, locking this down helps you narrow your options.
4. Find Your Team
Start assembling your dream vendor team. This includes deciding whether you need a wedding planner, a day-of coordinator, or both (we covered this in last week’s blog).
5. Create a Vision
Think about the vibe you want: romantic and grand, modern and chic, or rustic and charming? Use Pinterest boards or mood boards to collect inspiration and make decisions easier.

Closing Thought
Your engagement is the start of a beautiful journey. Take it one step at a time, and remember, we’re here to help you every step of the way!

Wedding Planner vs. Coordinator: What’s the Difference?
When planning a wedding, you’ll hear terms like wedding planner and wedding coordinator thrown around. But what’s the difference, and which one do you need? Let’s break it down so you can make the right decision for your big day.
1. The Wedding Planner
A wedding planner is your go-to for everything. From creating a budget to choosing vendors, they help you bring your vision to life. Think of them as your wedding BFF, handling logistics, timelines, and even managing contracts. They’re perfect if:
- You have a busy schedule.
- You’re planning a wedding in a short amount of time.
- You want professional expertise from day one.
2. The Wedding Coordinator
A coordinator steps in closer to the big day—usually a month or two before—to ensure everything you’ve planned runs smoothly. They’re all about execution, not design. They’ll confirm vendor details, manage timelines, and solve last-minute hiccups. Choose a coordinator if:
- You’ve planned everything yourself but need help managing the day.
- You want peace of mind on your wedding day.
3. How to Decide
Ask yourself these questions:
- Do I have time to manage planning myself?
- How much guidance do I need?
- What’s my budget?
Whether you choose a planner, a coordinator, or both, having professional help ensures your day is stress-free. At I Do Details, we specialize in both services—let’s chat about what’s right for you!
Corporate Events Done Right: Turning Office Parties Into Extraordinary Experiences
Corporate events are no longer just about stiff meetings and boring buffets. Today, they’re opportunities to build team spirit, celebrate successes, and create lasting impressions. Whether it’s a holiday party, a team-building retreat, or a product launch, here’s how to turn your next corporate event into something extraordinary.
Set a Clear Objective
Before diving into planning, define the event’s purpose. Are you celebrating milestones, fostering collaboration, or impressing clients? A clear objective will guide your decisions on venue, theme, and activities.
Find a Memorable Venue

Think outside the conference room!
- For a holiday party: A trendy rooftop, art gallery, or themed restaurant adds flair.
- For team-building: Outdoor venues like adventure parks or cozy cabins can foster camaraderie.
- For product launches: Sleek, modern spaces with great lighting and AV capabilities make a strong impression.
Incorporate a Creative Theme

Themes give corporate events a personality boost and help tie all elements together. Consider ideas like:
- Casino Night: Complete with game tables, themed decor, and a dress code.
- Global Flavors: Inspired by cuisine and decor from around the world.
- Decade Party: Celebrate success by stepping back into the ’70s, ’80s, or any memorable era.
Themes like these turn the event into an experience rather than just a gathering.
Engage with Entertainment

Good entertainment is key to keeping guests engaged and happy. Depending on the vibe you’re going for, consider:
- Live music or a DJ to set the tone.
- Fun extras like a caricature artist, photo booth, or even VR stations.
- Keynote speakers or motivational talks to inspire attendees.
Interactive elements like team challenges or group activities can make the event both fun and memorable.
Cater to All Tastes

Food and drink are central to any event. Whether it’s a casual happy hour or a formal gala dinner, offer something for everyone.
- For casual gatherings: Food trucks or themed grazing tables.
- For elegant affairs: Plated dinners with paired wines or a high-end cocktail bar.
- Include dietary-friendly options to make everyone feel welcome.
Leave a Lasting Impression
Give guests something to remember your event by:
- Thoughtful swag bags with useful branded items.
- Fun takeaways like professional photos or personalized gifts.
- A highlight video of the event to share on company channels or social media.
Plan for Seamless Execution
Behind every extraordinary event is a well-organized plan. Hiring an event coordinator can make all the difference, ensuring everything runs smoothly and allowing you to focus on connecting with your guests.
Corporate events are a chance to show your team and clients how much you value them. By adding creativity, thoughtful planning, and a touch of fun, you’ll create an event that’s not only successful but unforgettable.
Creating a Cozy Winter Wedding Atmosphere
Winter weddings have a charm all their own, and with the right touches, you can create a cozy, warm atmosphere that’s as inviting as it is beautiful. Here’s how to make your winter wedding feel like a snug, intimate celebration.
1. Warm Lighting and Candle Displays
Winter weddings shine with soft, warm lighting. Use candles, lanterns, and fairy lights to create a glow that brings comfort and romance to your venue.
2. Cozy Blankets for Guests
Provide blankets or shawls for guests to wrap up in during the ceremony or to keep warm on an outdoor patio.
3. Hot Drink Stations
Nothing says cozy like hot cocoa, cider, or a mulled wine station. Adding fun toppings like whipped cream, cinnamon sticks, or marshmallows makes it extra special.
4. Wood and Evergreen Decor
Natural elements like pine cones, evergreen boughs, and rustic wood accents add to the wintery vibe, creating an inviting and festive look.
5. Winter Comfort Foods
Serve up seasonal dishes like hearty soups, roasted veggies, and warm bread. Comforting foods add a cozy feel and help guests feel warm and satisfied.
From soft lighting to warm beverages, small touches make winter weddings feel magical. Creating a cozy vibe is all about embracing the season’s natural charm.
The Perfect Wedding Playlist: Songs to Keep Guests Dancing All Night
A great playlist is the heartbeat of a memorable wedding reception. Choosing the right mix of songs can keep guests energized and the dance floor packed. Here’s how to create a playlist that’ll have everyone dancing till the lights come up.
1. Start with Upbeat Hits
Kick off with songs that everyone knows and loves, like classic hits from the ’80s and ’90s, to get everyone comfortable and ready to party.
2. Mix in Slow Dances
Balance the energy with a few slower songs. Slow dances allow couples and family members to share some sentimental moments on the dance floor.
3. Don’t Forget Crowd-Pleasers
Songs like “Uptown Funk,” “Shout,” and “Don’t Stop Believin’” never fail to get everyone dancing.
4. Include Couple’s Favorites
Add in a few tracks that are special to you as a couple, like the song you first danced to or a track from a memorable vacation together.
5. Close with a Bang
End the night with a high-energy song to keep the celebration going as guests head out. Think of tracks like “Dancing Queen” or “Happy,” which will leave everyone with great memories.
A well-curated playlist keeps the energy high and everyone moving. With the right mix of tunes, your wedding night will be a dance party for the ages! #WeddingPlaylist #IDoDetails
Beyond the Cake: Creative Dessert Options for Your Wedding
While wedding cakes are a classic staple, couples are branching out with fun, unexpected dessert options that add a sweet twist to the celebration. Whether you’re a donut lover or prefer a spread of mini desserts, here are some delicious ways to serve up sweetness beyond the cake!
1. Donut Walls
Donut walls are both trendy and delicious! From classic glazed to colorful icing, guests can grab their favorite flavors and snap photos by this fun display.
2. Dessert Tables with Variety
A dessert table gives you the option to offer a mix of treats. Think mini cupcakes, macarons, tarts, brownies, and cookies for a spread that has something for everyone.
3. Ice Cream or Gelato Stations
For a cool treat, add an ice cream or gelato station with fun toppings. Guests will love creating their own sundae or cone, especially during warm-weather weddings.

4. S’mores Bars for Cozy Vibes
Perfect for outdoor or winter weddings, s’mores stations let guests toast marshmallows and assemble their own delicious s’mores.
5. Mini Dessert Shooters
For a more elegant touch, mini dessert shooters like cheesecake, chocolate mousse, or tiramisu are a hit! Guests can grab and enjoy these bite-sized treats as they mingle.
With so many options, there’s no need to stick to the traditional wedding cake. Choose desserts that reflect your style and give guests a sweet ending to the night!
Setting the Scene: Choosing the Perfect Lighting for Your Wedding
When it comes to creating the ideal ambiance for your wedding, lighting can make all the difference. The right lighting doesn’t just illuminate the space—it sets the mood, highlights decor, and frames unforgettable moments. Let’s dive into the ways lighting can transform your big day and make it one to remember!
1. Soft Candlelight for a Romantic Glow
Nothing says romance quite like candlelight. Arrange candles in glass holders along tables, around the altar, or even in suspended candle chandeliers. For a safer option, try LED candles, which provide the same warm flicker without the worry.
2. String Lights for a Magical Atmosphere
String lights instantly turn any venue into a dreamy, whimsical space. Drape them across the ceiling, around trees if outdoors, or even create a “light curtain” behind the head table for a sparkling backdrop. This lighting option is perfect for both indoor and outdoor settings.
3. Statement Chandeliers
Chandeliers add an instant touch of glamor to any wedding. Crystal chandeliers are great for classic or vintage-themed weddings, while modern geometric fixtures bring a chic touch to contemporary celebrations.
4. Uplighting for Added Drama
Place uplights along walls to create a soft glow that adds depth and drama. Choose colors that complement your decor, like warm tones for fall weddings or soft blues and purples for winter celebrations
.
5. Fairy Lights for Enchanted Garden Vibes
Ideal for outdoor or garden weddings, fairy lights create a sense of magic. Place them in trees, wrap them around columns, or drape them above the dance floor for a sparkling sky effect.
Whatever vibe you’re going for, lighting can truly bring it to life. When done thoughtfully, your lighting choices will make your wedding feel like a scene out of a dream.
The Top Wedding Trends for 2025: Make Your Big Day Unforgettable!
Hello there lovebirds! Get ready to stay ahead of the trends as we step into 2025 with fresh ideas for crafting a wedding that’s uniquely you. Let’s dive into the top wedding trends that are taking center stage this year, blending elegance, creativity, and a dash of bold originality to make your day unforgettable!
1. Elevated Eco-Friendly Weddings
Sustainable weddings continue to thrive in 2025, and couples are bringing eco-conscious touches to every part of the celebration. Beyond recycled decor and locally sourced flowers, this year’s green weddings are going big with carbon-neutral celebrations, upcycled wedding attire, and gourmet plant-based menus. For favors, think plantable seed packets, eco-friendly candles, or even a small donation to an environmental cause you cherish. Every eco-friendly choice you make shows that love for each other and the planet can go hand-in-hand.
2. Vibrant Jewel Tones & Color Pops
In 2025, the color wheel is taking a bold spin! Say goodbye to pastels and hello to vibrant jewel tones like deep sapphire, rich amethyst, and daring fuchsia. Couples are weaving these striking colors into every aspect, from table linens to floral arrangements and even bridal attire accents. Get playful with palettes by mixing deep jewel tones with unexpected pops of neon or metallics—perfect for couples who want to make a statement!
3. The Luxe Micro Wedding Experience
Intimate celebrations are more luxe and personalized than ever. With guest lists around 20-50, couples can splurge on creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience, featuring private estate venues, custom chef-curated menus, and premium cocktails. Personalized gift bags, bespoke entertainment, and a thoughtfully planned guest journey give everyone a taste of luxury. More than just intimate, these weddings are immersive, giving every guest a VIP feel.
4. Art-Inspired Decor & Custom Installations
Art-inspired decor is all the rage this year! Couples are bringing in stunning custom installations, like hanging floral clouds, life-size sculptures, and interactive art walls that double as photo backdrops. Some are even working with local artists to create one-of-a-kind pieces for their ceremony or reception space. By bringing in elements of visual art, weddings feel unique and deeply personal. Think of your wedding as a creative gallery that celebrates both your love and your artistic flair.
5. Expressive, Individual Bridesmaid Styles
The mix-and-match bridesmaid look is evolving, with even more individuality and personal style for each member of the bridal party. Bridesmaids are encouraged to choose dresses in different colors, textures, and patterns, as long as they fit within the wedding’s color scheme. Some brides are even foregoing dresses altogether, inviting bridesmaids to wear chic jumpsuits, pantsuits, or skirts and tops. This flexibility not only allows each person’s personality to shine but also results in a vibrant, fashion-forward bridal party.
6. Unconventional Venues with Intimate Vibes
2025 is all about unexpected settings that reflect the couple’s personality. Think historic libraries, boutique wineries, urban lofts, and botanical gardens. Many couples are opting for places with unique, built-in beauty so they can minimize added decor. Some are even saying “I do” in unconventional spaces like retro theaters or modern art museums, giving guests an experience they’ll never forget. The goal? A space as unique and dynamic as your love story.
Ready to Bring Your Dream Wedding to Life?
These 2025 trends bring fresh energy, elegance, and meaningful style to your big day. Whether you’re planning an eco-conscious celebration, a luxe micro wedding, or adding a splash of bold color, make your wedding a reflection of who you are as a couple. Here’s to planning a wedding day that’s unforgettable, on-trend, and entirely yours!
5 Tips to Make Wedding Planning Fun
Wedding planning can feel like a full-time job, but it doesn’t have to be all work and no play! Here’s how to keep the joy alive throughout the process.
1. Make It a Date Night
Turn your wedding planning meetings into date nights! Grab a glass of wine, order some takeout, and tackle that to-do list together. It’s a great way to bond and make decisions while keeping things light and fun.
2. Delegate the Stress

You don’t have to do everything yourself! Hire a wedding planner (like us at I Do Details 😉), or delegate tasks to friends and family. Let go of the pressure and trust the pros—or your bridesmaids!
3. Take Breaks
Remember to step away from the planning every now and then. Take time to relax, whether it’s a weekend getaway or just a day off from thinking about centerpieces. You’ll come back refreshed and ready to tackle the next task.
4. Celebrate the Milestones
When you check something major off your list—like booking the venue or sending invites—celebrate it! Go out for dinner, have a dance party, or reward yourself with something fun. Celebrate each small victory to keep things exciting.
5. Add Personal Touches
Wedding planning is way more fun when you get creative. Add DIY elements, create a custom signature cocktail, or include meaningful traditions that reflect you and your partner. The more personal the details, the more enjoyable the process!

Who Gets What? Our Tips for Tipping Your Vendors
Wedding vendors work hard to make your day magical, and tipping is one way to show appreciation. But knowing who to tip and how much can be confusing. Let’s break it down so you can tip like a pro!
1. The Wedding Planner
Your wedding planner has been with you from the beginning, ensuring everything goes smoothly. If they’ve gone above and beyond, consider a tip or a thoughtful gift.
- Tip: 10-20% of the planner’s fee, or a nice gift like a handwritten note and a personalized item.
2. Caterers and Wait Staff
Food is a big part of your wedding, and tipping those who help make it happen is a must!
- Tip: 15-20% of the total catering bill. Check if gratuity is included in the contract before tipping.
- Wait Staff & Bartenders: $20-$50 per person, depending on the size and complexity of your event.
3. Photographers & Videographers
These pros capture your most precious moments, so a tip is a great way to say thanks!
- Tip: $100-$200 per person. If the photographer owns their business, tips aren’t required but still appreciated.
4. Officiant
Whether they’re from your church or a hired professional, your officiant sets the tone for your wedding ceremony.
- Tip: $50-$100 if it’s not included in their fee. For a church official, consider a donation to their organization instead.
5. Hair and Makeup Artists
Your glam squad makes sure you look your best all day long!
- Tip: 15-25% of the total service cost for each artist.
6. DJ or Band
Music is key to setting the vibe, and tipping your DJ or band shows appreciation for keeping the party going.
- Tip: $50-$150 per musician or DJ.
7. Florist
Your florist creates the beautiful arrangements that make your venue pop, but tipping isn’t always expected. However, if you feel they’ve gone above and beyond, a tip is appreciated.
- Tip: 10-15% of the total floral bill.
8. Transportation
Your chauffeur keeps everyone on schedule, so don’t forget them!
- Tip: 10-15% of the total transportation bill.
9. Delivery and Setup Crew
For those who handle the behind-the-scenes work, like delivering and setting up rentals, a tip is a great way to show appreciation.
- Tip: $10-$20 per person for small setups; $50 for larger, more complex deliveries.
Remember, tipping is a gesture of thanks, and if you’re ever unsure, a heartfelt thank you note goes a long way!
VENDOR BLOG – Planning the Perfect Bachelorette: Balancing Fun and Wellness
Hello there lovebirds! Today, I’m excited to introduce you to a fantastic vendor, Phoenix Mobile IV, who knows all about keeping you feeling refreshed and energized during your celebrations. They’ve written an amazing blog on how to balance fun and wellness when planning the perfect bachelorette party. Get ready for some great tips on how to keep the fun rolling while making sure everyone feels their best!
Planning a bachelorette party can be an exciting yet daunting task, especially when aiming to strike the right balance between fun and wellness. The key is to craft an itinerary that incorporates both energetic activities and relaxing, health-focused elements. By thoughtfully blending these aspects, you can ensure that everyone enjoys the celebration while staying refreshed and ready for the big day. Here’s how to create a perfect bachelorette bash that harmonizes fun and wellness.
1. Craft a Balanced Itinerary
A successful bachelorette party balances high-energy events with relaxation and wellness activities. Consider designing a varied schedule that includes both exciting and calming experiences.
Morning Wellness Kickstart
Start the day with a refreshing activity that sets a positive tone. A group yoga or meditation session can help everyone center themselves and prepare for the day’s festivities. Many venues offer private classes tailored to your group’s needs. Alternatively, you can set up a session in a serene outdoor space or a rented studio. This early wellness boost helps everyone feel rejuvenated and ready to enjoy the day ahead.
Active Adventures
After the morning session, transition into an energetic activity that allows for bonding and fun. Options could include a dance class, a hiking excursion, or even a group fitness challenge. For instance, a dance class can be both exhilarating and a great way to let loose, while a hiking trip offers beautiful scenery and a bit of adventure.
Relaxation and Pampering
Incorporate periods of relaxation throughout the day. A mid-day spa treatment can be a perfect way to unwind and re-energize. Schedule group massages, facials, or mani-pedis to help everyone feel pampered. Some spas even offer bachelorette packages that include a range of services designed to promote relaxation and well-being.
2. Incorporate Healthy Eating
Food plays a significant role in maintaining wellness, so plan a menu that includes nutritious and delicious options.
Healthy Brunch or Lunch
Opt for a brunch or lunch that features fresh, wholesome ingredients. Think colorful salads, grain bowls, and smoothie bars. For example, a vibrant quinoa salad with roasted vegetables, avocados, and a light vinaigrette can be both satisfying and nourishing. Including a variety of fruits and vegetables ensures that everyone has plenty of healthy options to choose from.
Mindful Snacking
Prepare a selection of healthy snacks for in-between meals. Fresh fruit, nuts, and yogurt can keep energy levels up without the crash that often follows sugary treats. If you’re hosting a gathering at a venue or at home, consider setting up a snack bar with these items for easy access.
Hydration Station
Staying hydrated is crucial, especially during active or high-energy events. Set up a hydration station with infused water, herbal teas, and coconut water. Infusing water with fruits like lemon, cucumber, and berries not only adds flavor but also provides additional health benefits.
3. Plan Relaxing Evening Activities
As the day winds down, focus on activities that promote relaxation and reflection. These can offer a perfect counterbalance to the earlier excitement.
Sunset Yoga or Meditation
An evening yoga or meditation session can help everyone unwind and reflect on the day’s experiences. Practicing yoga at sunset or meditating in a tranquil setting can enhance feelings of calm and satisfaction. It’s a great way to transition from the energetic parts of the day to a more relaxed evening.
Chill-Out Lounge
Create a cozy lounge area where everyone can relax, chat, and enjoy a low-key evening. Soft lighting, comfortable seating, and soothing music set the mood for a peaceful end to the day. Consider providing wellness-themed entertainment, such as a film with a positive message or a guided relaxation session.
“Relaxation and hydration are key to enjoying your bachelorette party to the fullest. Mobile IV therapy is a great way to keep everyone feeling refreshed and ready for all the fun ahead.” – Vanessa Cabrera, Phoenix Mobile IV.
4. Offer Personal Wellness Options
To cater to varied interests and wellness needs at your bachelorette party, offer a range of personalized wellness activities.
Access to Personal Trainers
Providing one-on-one sessions with personal trainers allows guests to engage in customized workouts suited to their fitness levels and goals. Whether it’s high-intensity training or a gentle stretch, personal trainers can offer tailored guidance and motivation.
Mindfulness Workshops
Mindfulness workshops, such as guided meditation or yoga for stress relief, offer valuable tools for relaxation and mental clarity. Guests can choose workshops that align with their personal wellness preferences, enhancing their overall experience.
Mobile IV Therapy for Wellness
Incorporate mobile IV therapy for wellness therapy to provide guests with convenient hydration and nutrient replenishment. This service helps boost energy levels and overall wellness, ensuring everyone feels refreshed and rejuvenated.
Offering these personalized wellness options ensures that every guest can participate in activities that best support their individual well-being, making the bachelorette party a memorable and rejuvenating experience.
Embrace the Balance: A Memorable Bachelorette Experience
Planning the perfect bachelorette party involves more than just organizing fun activities; it’s about creating a memorable experience that also promotes wellness. By balancing energetic events with relaxing and health-focused elements, you can ensure that the celebration is enjoyable and rejuvenating.
From morning yoga to evening relaxation, incorporating wellness into your itinerary helps everyone feel their best, making the lead-up to the big day as delightful and stress-free as possible. With thoughtful planning and a focus on well-being, your bachelorette party will be a celebration that everyone cherishes long after the festivities have ended.
Our Tips for the Best Wedding Day Accessories
When it comes to wedding day style, it’s all about the details! The perfect accessories can transform your bridal look, taking it from gorgeous to absolutely breathtaking. Whether you’re going for timeless elegance or adding a little sparkle of personality, we’ve got the scoop on the best wedding day accessories.
1. The Veil: Your Ultimate Statement Piece
Veils can make a huge impact, but how do you pick the right one?
- Classic Veil: If you’re going for a timeless look, a cathedral or chapel-length veil never disappoints.
- Modern Twist: For a more contemporary vibe, try a birdcage veil or skip the veil altogether in favor of a chic headband or embellished comb. Whatever style you choose, just remember: your veil should complement, not compete with, your gown.
2. Shoes: Style vs. Comfort (Why Not Both?)
Yes, those sky-high stilettos are stunning, but comfort is key! You’ll be on your feet all day—so opt for shoes that give you the best of both worlds.
- Heels: Go for a lower heel or a wedge for comfort without sacrificing style.
- Flats: If you’re a no-heels kind of bride, dressy flats are perfect, and they come in styles as gorgeous as any heel. And don’t forget—you can always swap out shoes after the ceremony for something comfier during the reception!
3. Jewelry: Less is More
When it comes to bridal jewelry, you want to accentuate your beauty, not overshadow it.
- Necklaces: If your dress has a detailed neckline, opt for subtle earrings and skip the necklace altogether. If your neckline is simple, feel free to go bolder with a statement piece.
- Earrings: Classic pearls or diamonds are always a hit, but if you’re feeling adventurous, add a pop of color that ties in with your wedding palette.
- Bracelets: Keep it minimal with a delicate bracelet, or try stacking a few bangles for a modern twist.
4. Belts and Sashes: The Perfect Waistline
Adding a belt or sash can give your gown a little extra pizzazz and define your waistline in the most flattering way.
- Sashes: A soft satin or beaded sash can add a subtle sparkle.
- Belts: For a bolder look, go for a crystal-embellished belt that really catches the light.
5. Hair Accessories: Crown or Comb?
Once you’ve picked your hairstyle, it’s time to think about accessories!
- Tiaras and Crowns: If you’re channeling your inner princess, a tiara or delicate crown adds an elegant touch.
- Hairpins and Combs: For a more understated look, choose crystal-studded pins or a floral comb. Remember to pick something that works with your hairstyle and won’t budge throughout the day.
6. Clutch: Functional Meets Fashion
A bridal clutch is the perfect way to keep those day-of essentials (like lipstick or tissues) close without sacrificing style. Go for one that complements your dress but doesn’t steal the spotlight.
7. Something Old, Something New, Something Blue…
Don’t forget your wedding traditions! Incorporating these little pieces into your ensemble can be a sentimental touch. A blue garter, vintage brooch, or heirloom necklace can add that perfect personal twist to your look.
Be Our Guest! But Don’t Bring One: 3 Tactful Ways to (Not) Include Plus Ones or Little Ones
Hey there, lovebirds! 🎉 Crafting the perfect guest list is a delicate balance, and sometimes that means making tough decisions about plus ones and little ones. But how do you politely let your guests know that their invite doesn’t extend to a plus one or their adorable kiddos? Here are three tactful ways to navigate this tricky situation and keep your guest list under control without hurting any feelings.
1. Address the Invitations Clearly
One of the simplest ways to communicate who’s invited is through the way you address your invitations. Be specific! For example, instead of writing “The Smith Family,” write “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” This subtle hint lets your guests know that the invitation is for the adults only, or for the couple without a plus one. If you’re sending digital invitations, you can include a note in the RSVP section that clarifies how many guests the invite covers.
2. Use Your Wedding Website
Your wedding website is a great tool for sharing all the details about your big day, including guest policies. You can include a section on your website that gently explains your decision. For example, you could say, “As much as we love your little ones, we’ve decided to make our wedding an adults-only affair. We appreciate your understanding!” For plus ones, you could mention, “Due to limited space, we’re unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those named on the invitation.” This keeps things clear and ensures everyone is on the same page.
3. Have a Personal Conversation
If you’re worried about how your decision might be received, a personal touch can go a long way. Reach out to guests individually, especially those who might be most affected by the no plus one or no kids policy. Let them know that it was a difficult decision, but one you had to make to keep the guest list manageable. A little empathy and understanding can make all the difference, and most people will appreciate the honesty.
Managing your guest list can be tricky, but with clear communication and a little tact, you can ensure that your wedding day is exactly how you envisioned it. After all, your day is about celebrating with the people who mean the most to you – and that’s what truly matters. Cheers to a guest list that’s just right! The Ultimate Guide to Wedding Welcome Bags: What to Include and Why
Hey, hospitality heroes! 🎁 When it comes to making your guests feel loved and appreciated, wedding welcome bags are a fantastic touch. They’re like little bundles of joy that greet your guests upon arrival, packed with thoughtful goodies to make their stay more enjoyable. But what exactly should you include in these bags? Let’s dive into the ultimate guide to wedding welcome bags—what to include, why it matters, and how to make them memorable.
1. A Warm Welcome: Personal Notes and Schedules
First things first—set the tone with a warm welcome! Include a personal note from you and your partner, thanking your guests for being part of your special day. A handwritten note adds a personal touch that shows your appreciation. Along with the note, include a schedule of events. Your guests will appreciate having a rundown of the weekend’s activities, from the rehearsal dinner to the farewell brunch. It’s a simple way to keep everyone in the loop and ensure they don’t miss a moment.

2. Refresh and Revive: Snacks and Drinks
Let’s be honest—traveling can be tiring, and your guests will appreciate a little pick-me-up when they arrive. Pack your welcome bags with snacks and drinks to keep them refreshed and revived. Think about including local treats or your favorite snacks as a couple. Granola bars, nuts, fruit, and bottled water are always great choices. If you’re feeling fancy, throw in a mini bottle of champagne or a locally brewed beer to get the celebrations started!

3. Stay Connected: Local Guides and Maps
If you’re hosting a destination wedding or have out-of-town guests, including local guides and maps is a thoughtful touch. Highlight key locations like the wedding venue, nearby restaurants, and must-see attractions. This helps your guests navigate the area and enjoy their stay even more. You can also include recommendations for your favorite spots in town—whether it’s a cozy coffee shop or a scenic hiking trail, sharing your local knowledge adds a personal touch.
4. In Case of Emergency: Essentials and Comfort Items
You never know when a mini-emergency might strike, so including a few essential items in your welcome bags is a smart move. Consider adding items like pain relievers, band-aids, mints, or even a small sewing kit. If your wedding is in a sunny location, throw in some sunscreen or sunglasses. For colder climates, include hand warmers or cozy socks. These little extras show your guests that you’ve thought of everything, making them feel even more taken care of.
5. A Touch of Fun: Wedding-Themed Favors
Finally, add a touch of fun with wedding-themed favors that your guests can enjoy and take home as a memento. This could be anything from custom koozies and personalized candles to mini bottles of your favorite spirits or locally made goodies. If you’re feeling creative, include a small puzzle or a game that relates to your love story. These fun little extras not only add to the excitement but also give your guests something to remember your wedding by.

Wedding welcome bags are a thoughtful way to make your guests feel special from the moment they arrive. By including personal notes, snacks, local guides, essentials, and a touch of fun, you’ll create welcome bags that leave a lasting impression. So get creative, think about what your guests will love, and have fun putting together these little bundles of joy. After all, it’s the little details that make a big difference! 🎁 #WeddingWelcomeBags #WeddingPlanning #GuestLoveTraditions: What Do They Mean Anyway?
Traditions: What Do They Mean Anyway?
Hey there, wedding planners and tradition seekers! 🌸 When it comes to weddings, traditions are like the sprinkles on top of a cake – they add flavor, color, and a dash of sentimentality. But have you ever stopped to wonder where these traditions come from and what they actually mean? Let’s dive into a few popular wedding traditions and uncover the stories behind them. Who knows? You might just find a new appreciation for the “something old, something new” saying!
1. The White Wedding Dress
The iconic white wedding dress wasn’t always the go-to choice for brides. In fact, before Queen Victoria’s wedding to Prince Albert in 1840, brides often wore their best dress in any color. Victoria’s choice of white was seen as a symbol of purity and innocence, and it quickly caught on as the standard for brides. So, when you slip into that beautiful white gown, you’re not just following fashion – you’re embracing a piece of history!
2. Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue
This classic rhyme has been guiding brides for generations. But what’s the significance? “Something old” represents continuity with the past, “something new” symbolizes optimism for the future, “something borrowed” is meant to bring borrowed happiness, and “something blue” stands for love, purity, and fidelity. It’s a little bit of everything you want on your wedding day – past, present, and future all wrapped up in one!
3. The First Dance
The first dance as a married couple is a sweet and romantic moment, but did you know it has its roots in royalty? In centuries past, the first dance was a tradition at royal balls, where the guests of honor would take to the floor to kick off the dancing. Now, it’s your turn to shine! Whether you’re swaying to a slow ballad or busting a move to your favorite tune, that first dance is all about setting the tone for your celebration.
4. Tossing the Bouquet
The bouquet toss is a fun and lively tradition, but its origins are a bit more, well, grabby. Back in the day, brides were seen as lucky, and guests would try to tear off pieces of the bride’s dress or flowers to bring themselves some good fortune. To escape the crowd, brides started tossing their bouquets as a distraction – and just like that, a tradition was born! Now, it’s a playful moment where all the single ladies get their chance to catch a bit of that bridal luck.
Weddings are full of traditions that add depth and meaning to your celebration. Whether you embrace them or put your own twist on them, understanding the stories behind these customs can make your big day even more special. Happy planning, and here’s to making your own traditions! 💍🎉 #WeddingTraditions #SomethingOldSomethingNew #BrideToBe

With a little strategy, a dash of creativity, and a lot of love, you can create a seating chart that’ll have your guests mixing, mingling, and making memories.
1. Start with the VIPs: Family and Close Friends
The first step in any successful seating plan is to start with your VIPs—your family and closest friends. These are the people who’ve been there for you through thick and thin, and they deserve prime seating. Typically, immediate family members sit closest to the head table, while extended family and close friends fill in the surrounding tables. Make sure to keep these folks together and near the action so they can enjoy every moment with you.
2. Consider the Dynamics
Let’s be real—every family has its quirks, and weddings are no exception! When arranging seats, take note of any potential conflicts or tricky dynamics. If Aunt Susan and Uncle Bob aren’t on the best of terms, it’s okay to seat them at separate tables. Similarly, think about group dynamics among your friends. If there’s an old rivalry or a recent breakup, be mindful of where you place those guests. The goal is to create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and can enjoy themselves.
3. Mix It Up for Fun!
Weddings are a time to bring people together, so why not mix things up? Seating guests with others they don’t know well can lead to new friendships and lively conversations. Consider blending groups—like pairing your work friends with your childhood buddies or seating your cousins with your partner’s college crew. Just be sure to balance it out by including at least one person they know well at the table. This way, everyone feels at ease while still having the chance to meet someone new.
4. Consider the Flow of the Event
Your seating arrangements should complement the flow of your event. For example, if you’re planning a lot of dancing, place younger, more energetic guests closer to the dance floor. If you have older guests who may prefer a quieter space, consider seating them a bit farther from the speakers. Also, think about accessibility—make sure that any guests with mobility issues are seated in areas that are easy to access. Keeping the flow of the event in mind will ensure that your guests have the best experience possible.
5. Use Technology to Your Advantage
Gone are the days of shuffling around paper seating charts—thank goodness! There are now plenty of online tools that make creating your seating arrangements a breeze. Platforms like AllSeated, WeddingWire, or even Google Sheets allow you to visualize your seating plan, move guests around with a click, and ensure that everyone has a seat. These tools also make it easy to share your seating chart with your wedding planner or venue coordinator for a seamless setup.

Crafting the perfect seating arrangement is all about balancing the needs of your guests with the flow of your event. By starting with the VIPs, considering dynamics, mixing things up, and keeping the event flow in mind, you can create a seating chart that ensures everyone has a great time. So grab your guest list, get creative, and start planning where your loved ones will be enjoying your special day. Cheers to a beautifully arranged celebration! 🥂 #SeatingArrangements #WeddingPlanning #HappyGuests

Buffet or Plated?
Choosing the Perfect Meal Service for Your Big Day
🌟 At I Do Details, I know that one of the most crucial decisions you’ll make for your special day is the dining experience. Our fantastic catering partner, Fresh from the Kitchen, offers a variety of catering options that are sure to delight. In this blog, they dive into one of the most common questions they get: What are the benefits of buffet vs. plated service? Let’s explore the pros and cons of each to help you decide what’s perfect for your wedding celebration. Bon appétit! 🍽️💍
At Fresh from the Kitchen we offer a variety of catering options for our delightful clientele!
Most common question we get, especially from those planning their wedding, is what are the benefits of buffet vs. plated service?
In working with your wedding coordinator, who will organize your budget, determining how much you would like to spend can be the number one determining factor on what sort of meal you have for your event.
A buffet is typically going to be more affordable than plated service. Depending on the menu selected, a buffet can have less dishes needed and less staff which will save money. Your guests can try a variety of items, all by just going through a line. No need to tally meal counts, have a formal seating chart, or place cards with meal indicators on them. So, less work for your planner, or if you are more of a DIY person, less work for you. Of course, a buffet results in lines, not everyone eating at the same time, and is less formal if you are wanting more of a black tie affair.
Plated service ensures your guests are mostly all eating at the same time, receiving a more formal meal offering, and offers a nice aesthetic and formalness to your event. Typically for a plated affair a more formal type of food is offered such as filet mignon, halibut, or a lamb rack. This means higher dollar menu items and more costs. If you are budget conscious, a plated service may not be the route you take. Plated service requires more serving staff and back of the house staff to plate the food items too, which drives up the overall cost of the event too. More organization is needed for plated service for it to run seamlessly. Assigned seats, name cards with meal indicators on them for the service staff, keeping track of what each guest ordered as well. Of course, when you have a wonderful planning service like I Do Details, you can leave these formalities to Jeanette and her team, so you don’t have to worry about any of these necessary tasks.
At the end of day, no matter the style of service you choose, having good food served hot and fresh is what will matter most to you and your guests. Give them an experience that only Fresh from the Kitchen offers, ” A Taste of Perfection!”
3 Reasons to Hire a Videographer
Hey there, soon-to-be newlyweds! 🌟 Today, we’re diving into a topic that often gets overlooked in the hustle and bustle of wedding planning: hiring a videographer. While photography captures beautiful still moments, a videographer brings your wedding day to life in a way that nothing else can. Here are three compelling reasons to consider hiring a videographer for your special day.
1. Relive the Moments
Your wedding day will be filled with precious moments that pass by in the blink of an eye. From the nervous excitement as you get ready to the heartfelt vows and the joyful celebration at the reception, a videographer can capture it all. The ability to relive your wedding day through video allows you to experience the emotions, the laughter, and even the little details that you might have missed in the whirlwind of the day. It’s like having a time machine to revisit one of the happiest days of your life.
2. Share the Love
Not all your loved ones may be able to attend your wedding, but that doesn’t mean they have to miss out on the experience. A wedding video is a perfect way to share your special day with friends and family who couldn’t be there in person. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to preserve memories for future generations. Imagine showing your children and grandchildren the magic of your wedding day – the way you looked, the way you laughed, and the way you danced the night away.
3. Professional Quality and Creativity
Hiring a professional videographer ensures that your wedding video is of the highest quality. They bring expertise, high-end equipment, and a creative eye to capture your day beautifully. From cinematic shots to the perfect soundtrack, a professional videographer will create a stunning and emotional narrative of your wedding day. Their ability to edit and produce a cohesive story means your wedding video will be more than just a recording; it will be a work of art that you’ll treasure forever.
Investing in a videographer is investing in the ability to relive and share the joy of your wedding day. Don’t let those precious moments fade away – capture them in a way that lets you experience the magic over and over again. Happy planning, and here’s to making memories that last a lifetime! 🎥💖 #WeddingVideography #CaptureTheMoment #ReliveTheMagic
VENDOR BLOG – 4 Myths of Booking Live Music for Special Events – Debunked!
Hey there, lovebirds! 🎶 I’m thrilled to feature a guest blog from the incredibly talented SocoDuo, a mesmerizing flute and guitar duo known for creating magical musical moments at weddings. Dive into their expert insights on the importance of live music and how it can elevate your special day to unforgettable heights. Let’s debunk some common myths in their blog, “4 Myths of Booking Live Music for Special Events – Debunked!”
Everyone would pretty much agree that live music can elevate special events, adding energy, passion, and entertainment value. Unfortunately, there are several myths surrounding the process of booking live music that can discourage people including musicians at their events. Below, we will debunk these myths so you don’t let them discourage you from having live music elevate the ambiance of your event.
Myth 1: Live Music is Expensive
The high expense of having live music is one of the most common misconceptions. While there is some expense to hiring musicians, just like adding any touch to your event, the cost can vary widely and often less than one would expect. A large band or ensemble can get pretty pricey, but book a soloist or small ensemble, and you might be surprised at what you can get!
The rate depends upon how long you want musicians to perform. For a shorter performance, you can get a lot of bang for your buck. Musicians are often willing to negotiate and can tailor their services to accommodate specific budgetary needs.
For example, prices may start around $150 for an hour of a soloist, whereas an hour of a string quartet may start around $750 for an hour. For somewhere in between, you could hire a duo, like SoSco Duo who performs a wide variety of timeless music on flute and guitar.
Myth 2: Booking Live Music is Difficult and Time Consuming
When you’re busy taking care of everything that’s involved in planning an event, booking musicians may just not seem like it’s worth the hassle. While it does take some effort to find the right musicians, with technology, the booking process can actually be pretty simple, using electronic booking agreements and online payments.
You can find musicians just by Googling the ensemble you’re looking for, or you can use directory sites like GigSalad, The Bash or WeddingWire or a booking agency.
Also, keep in mind that experienced musicians can provide guidance, saving you time by helping you figure out scheduling, equipment requirements, logistics, etc.
Myth 3: Live Music is Distracting and Loud
Some people may assume that live music will be loud and distract guests from their conversations and experience. You definitely should take volume into consideration when choosing the size and kind of ensemble, but professional musicians are capable of adjusting their sound level, just like a DJ would with recorded music.
If you let your musicians know about the different needs during your event, they will be able to adjust their music to fit the atmosphere and flow of the event. Sensitive musicians will be dedicated to ensuring the music enhances rather than overwhelms the experience.
Additionally, some kinds of musicians (strings and winds) can play with or without amplification. If you have a venue that doesn’t allow amplification, these ensembles can provide just the right sound level without being overwhelming.
Myth 4: You Have a Limit in Musical Styles with Live Music
People often assume that if you book live music, your choices of style will be limited. Actually, there are countless options with live music! In the Phoenix area, there are musicians specializing in everything from classical and pop to jazz, rock, and pretty much any musical style you may be looking for! Whether you’re planning a sophisticated event or a casual outdoor luncheon, there are musical ensembles in the Phoenix area that will be perfect to suit your vision.
Most professional musicians are very versatile and can select their repertoire to accommodate different audiences and settings. With your musicians’ help, you can customize the musical experience to perfectly fit the theme and mood of your event.
In conclusion, the 4 most common myths about booking live music for special events often come from misconceptions about cost, hassle, volume and style. By debunking these myths, we hope you will recognize the value and flexibility of live music, so your event can be more memorable and enjoyable for your guests.

Band vs. DJ: Let’s Talk – Making the Right Choice for Your Big Day!
Hey there, wedding planners and party enthusiasts! Today, we’re diving into one of the most fun (and sometimes challenging) decisions you’ll make for your wedding: choosing between a band and a DJ. Both have their own unique vibes and benefits, and we’re here to help you figure out which option is the perfect fit for your celebration.
The Live Band Experience
1. Energy and Atmosphere:
– There’s nothing quite like the energy of a live band. Musicians interacting with the crowd, the spontaneity of live performances, and the sheer excitement of live music can create an electric atmosphere. A band can truly elevate the energy level and make your wedding feel like a special event.
2. Personal Touch:
– Live bands can add a personal touch to your wedding by tailoring their performance to your preferences. Want a unique rendition of your favorite song for your first dance? A band can make it happen, adding a memorable and personalized element to your celebration.
3. Visual Appeal:
– Let’s not forget the visual aspect! A live band can add a dynamic and engaging element to your wedding with their stage presence and performance. It’s not just about the music – it’s about the show.
The DJ Advantage
1. Variety and Flexibility:
– A DJ can provide a vast range of music, from oldies to the latest hits, ensuring there’s something for everyone. They can seamlessly switch between genres, keeping the dance floor packed all night long. Plus, they can take requests on the spot, making sure your guests hear their favorite tunes.
2. Consistency:
– DJs can keep the music going without breaks, ensuring a consistent flow throughout your event. This can be especially useful during transitions, like when guests are moving from dinner to the dance floor.
3. Budget-Friendly:
– Generally, hiring a DJ can be more budget-friendly than a live band. If you’re looking to save a bit on your wedding expenses without sacrificing the quality of entertainment, a DJ might be the way to go.
Making the Decision
Consider Your Theme and Venue:
– Your wedding theme and venue can significantly influence your decision. A classic, elegant wedding might pair beautifully with a live jazz band, while a modern, upbeat celebration could be perfectly suited for a DJ with a killer playlist.
Think About Your Guest List:
– Consider the demographics and preferences of your guests. If you have a mixed crowd with varied musical tastes, a DJ might offer the flexibility needed to please everyone. If your guests love live music and the energy it brings, a band could be the hit of the night.
Budget and Logistics:
– Take a close look at your budget and the logistics of your venue. Bands generally require more space and equipment, which could impact your venue setup. DJs typically need less space and equipment, making them a more versatile option for smaller or less equipped venues.
REAL Wedding: Allyson + Austin
In the end, whether you choose a live band or a DJ, the goal is to create a magical and memorable experience for you and your guests. Trust your instincts, consider your preferences, and go with the option that feels right for your unique celebration. Vendor Feature – Alexys Brandon Talks Customer Service
Hey lovely readers! 🌟 Today, we’re beyond excited to feature an incredible talent in the photography world – Alexys Brandon Photography With her keen eye for detail and her knack for capturing those magical, fleeting moments, she turns memories into timeless treasures. But what sets her apart isn’t just her artistry – it’s her commitment to stellar customer service. In our latest blog post, Alexys shares invaluable insights on maintaining top-notch customer service as a small business owner. Whether you’re in the wedding/event industry or just starting your entrepreneurial journey, her advice is gold. Let’s dive into her wisdom and get inspired!
I’d say I’m very passionate about customer service as a small business owner. I have also been in customer service for years for my 9-5. I have found that leading with understanding and empathy has been the key to great customer service. I like to think of my business as a large-scale business (I will be there soon), so I look at the examples of large businesses and how they treat me as a customer and how they treat others as customers. I learned to be solution based, and that’s a key to successful customer service as well. When I have a problem at Amazon, they have so many options to rectify the situation, which I appreciate. The solution is quick and not a lot of hassle. So, when I get clients that have an issue with my business practices, or contracts, or packages I think about being solution based. I lead with an apology, acknowledge how they feel and get right to a solution. It is important to take note of when it’s time to be personal and when it’s time to be professional. If a client is giving an attitude, it is not the best practice to return that same tone to the customer, remember you’re a business selling a service and some people will be satisfied and some won’t. It is in the quality of your customer service that you handle either situation with integrity and respect. Word of mouth is huge, and you want people to give you great word of mouth on things that people truly value, and that’s how a business handles conflicts/issues.
Thank you so much for sharing your much needed perspective! Your dedication to exceptional customer service truly shines through in every snapshot and interaction. To my readers, we hope you’ve found this blog post as enlightening and inspiring as I have. Whether you’re planning your big day, having an event or looking to enhance your own business and its practices, these tips are sure to elevate your experience. Stay tuned for more features and tips from the wedding industry’s best. Until next time, keep spreading love and capturing moments! 📸💖 #WeddingWisdom #CustomerServiceExcellence #FeaturedPhotographer 🌟

Should You Have a Flower Girl and Ring Bearer?
Hey there! Let’s chat about one of the sweetest traditions in weddings: the flower girl and ring bearer. You might be wondering, should you include these adorable little helpers in your big day? Here are some points to consider:
1. The Cute Factor: Let’s be real—nothing melts hearts like a pint-sized flower girl tossing petals or a dapper ring bearer marching down the aisle. These little ones add a touch of innocence and charm that’ll have your guests oohing and aahing.
2. Family Involvement: Including a flower girl and ring bearer is a great way to involve younger family members in your wedding. It’s a special honor for them and a sweet gesture that makes your day even more family-centric.
3. The Practical Side: Think about the logistics. Young children can be unpredictable—tears, tantrums, or stage fright might happen. If you have little ones in mind who are up for the task, go for it! If not, it’s perfectly okay to skip this tradition.
4. Alternatives: If you decide not to have a flower girl or ring bearer, there are plenty of other ways to make your ceremony special. Consider having older kids or even pets take on these roles for a fun twist!
At the end of the day, whether or not to have a flower girl and ring bearer is entirely up to you. Do what feels right for your wedding and your vision. Happy planning!
5 Questions to Ask Your Venue Before Saying I Do:
Alright, lovebirds, it’s time to pop the question—no, not that question! I’m talking about asking your venue these five crucial questions before saying “I do” to your dream wedding location:
- Exclusive Access: Will you be the only event at the venue on your big day, or will you be sharing the spotlight with other lovebirds? You want to make sure you have the place all to yourselves for your special day.
- Setup and Tear Down Time: How many hours do you get for setup and tear down? You don’t want to feel rushed as you transform the space into your dream wedding wonderland—or clean it up afterwards.
- Vendor Flexibility: Are you required to use certain vendors, or can you bring in your own dream team? You’ll want the freedom to choose the perfect vendors who align with your vision and budget.
- Backup Plans: What’s the venue’s plan B in case of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances? You’ll want to make sure there’s a backup plan in place to keep your day running smoothly, rain or shine.
- Fine Print: Last but not least, make sure to read the fine print and ask about any hidden fees or restrictions. You don’t want any surprises popping up on your wedding day—or your bill!
With these questions in your arsenal, you’ll be ready to navigate the venue hunt
3 Mistakes to Avoid When Planning Your Ceremony Time:
Lovebirds, let’s talk ceremony timing—because nobody wants to be fashionably late to their own wedding, am I right? Here are three mistakes to avoid when planning your ceremony time:
- Chase the Sunset: Check for the sunset time on your big day and plan to say “I do” about 1.5 hours before. This golden hour provides the perfect lighting for dreamy photos that’ll make you swoon for years to come.
- Time Warp Woes: Make sure you have plenty of time to access the venue before your ceremony starts. You don’t want to be stuck in traffic or scrambling to set up while your guests are arriving. Give yourself—and your vendors—ample time to get everything just right.
- Avoid Rush Hour: If you’re tying the knot on a weekday, steer clear of high traffic times that could delay your guests. Consider scheduling your ceremony outside of rush hour to ensure everyone arrives on time and stress-free.
With these tips in your back pocket, you’ll breeze through ceremony planning like a pro and say “I do” with ease. Now, go ahead and schedule that sunset kiss—it’s going to be magical!

Find the Florist of Your Dreams with These Tips
Whether you’re planning a luxury wedding, an 80th birthday party, or an intimate baby shower, it’s important to set yourself up for success when partnering with a floral vendor! Follow these tips when searching for a florist, and you’ll find the team that’s the right fit for your celebration…
Do Your Research
It’s okay if you feel lost when it comes to flowers! Trust us; we know how important it is.
when selecting blooms to set the mood for your special occasion. Florists are here to guide you through the process. Doing a little research about blooms beforehand, and feeling a bit more prepared never hurts! Getting educated on average prices of floral elements like centerpieces, bridal bouquets, or large-scale installations, and discovering what style of design and specific flowers you gravitate towards will help you narrow your vision.
Nail Down Your Budget
Budgeting for florals can be tricky. We understand that not everyone is well-versed in the cost of event flowers, and we don’t expect you to be! Researching and becoming familiar with the average price will help you determine how much of your event budget you can and want to allocate for flowers. Having a determined budget before you find your floral vendor will help you find a florist who’s the right fit for your event and start the planning process with clear expectations for both parties. Lastly, don’t be afraid to share your budget with your florist. Florists are typically resourceful and will help you scale your vision. Withholding the numbers will only create more steps and delay the design process.
Get Inspired
No two florists are the same. Some can do traditional design in their sleep, while other
floral designers can rock out an abstract installation that’s one-of-a-kind.. Looking at website galleries and Instagram pages for previous work will help you find the right florist to execute your event. Every floral vendor shines in different ways so it’s best to find a business whose strength aligns with the vision for your occasion.
Find A Florist You Can Trust
When initially sourcing a floral team for your event, hire the team you click with the most. The best relationships between florists and clients bloom when you can entrust that your vendor has your best interest at heart and no doubts that they will accomplish your creative concept. Part of the fun is connecting with a team that can use their expertise to shape your vision without being micromanaged. Hire with intent and let your floral artist do what they’re best at. Giving your designers the freedom to get creative and problem-solve will always leave you with the best possible work!

Unveiling the Difference: Wedding Planner vs. Venue Coordinator
Embarking on the journey of planning your dream wedding? While your venue coordinator plays a vital role, understanding why a dedicated wedding planner is indispensable can make all the difference in crafting a seamless and unforgettable celebration.
Your venue coordinator, although essential for managing venue-specific details, primarily focuses on the venue’s logistics. On the other hand, a wedding planner is your personal advocate, navigating every aspect of your big day. From curating the perfect vendor team to designing a cohesive theme, their expertise extends beyond the venue’s confines.
A wedding planner is your strategic partner, ensuring your vision comes to life. They work tirelessly to capture the essence of your love story, infusing it into every detail. From timeline orchestration to troubleshooting unforeseen challenges, a planner is there to safeguard your joy.
While a venue coordinator excels in venue-specific logistics, a wedding planner is the conductor of your entire wedding symphony. Their commitment is solely to you, ensuring every element aligns with your dreams. So, as you embark on this exciting journey, consider the invaluable role a wedding planner plays, making your celebration not just a day to remember, but a true reflection of your unique love story.

Sweet Memories and Regrets: Navigating Wedding Favors with Flair
Wedding favors, those delightful tokens of appreciation, have evolved from traditional to trendy, reflecting couples’ unique styles. For us, the ultimate favorites are the ones that not only delight but also linger in the hearts of guests. Consider the charm of Krispy Kreme donuts, snugly tucked in adorable wedding boxes—two sweet treats, perfectly encapsulating your love. Or picture a burst of color with macaroons, a delightful nod to your wedding palette.
In our pursuit of unforgettable moments, we advocate for edible favors—like the comforting allure of milk and cookies or the practicality of a curated hangover bag, promising relief after a night of celebration. These treats ensure your gratitude is not just felt but savored, bypassing the fate of trinkets left behind. We also love custom illustrations done on site as keepsakes for your friends and family. It doubles as entertainment and we love a two for one!
However, not all favors are created equal, and some have overstayed their welcome. Goodbye to the overdone bottle openers,, the once-trendy but now tired candy buffets, and the ubiquitous koozies that have graced one too many wedding tables. As wedding trends evolve, so should our approach to favors, embracing the new and bidding farewell to the overplayed.
In the realm of wedding favors, let your choices reflect your style, taste, and the unique essence of your love story. Choose the sweet tokens that resonate with your guests and bid adieu to the clichés, ensuring your wedding favors are as unforgettable as the moments they accompany.

- Self-Care Rituals: With all the hustle and bustle, it’s easy for brides to neglect self-care. Take some time for pampering – indulge in a spa day, get a massage, or simply unwind with a good book. Radiant skin and a calm mind are the best accessories a bride can wear.
- Finalize Details with Vendors: A stress-free wedding day starts with clear communication. Connect with your vendors a week before the wedding to confirm details, timelines, and any last-minute changes. This ensures everyone is on the same page, allowing you to relax and savor every moment on your special day.
- Practice Mindfulness: Amid the chaos, take a moment to breathe. Practice mindfulness or meditation to center yourself and soak in the significance of the upcoming day. Reflect on the love that has brought you here and the beautiful journey awaiting you.
Remember, the key is to enjoy the process and embrace the joy of the moment. These three simple steps will help any bride approach her big day with confidence, grace, and a heart full of love. Cheers to the countdown to ‘I Do’! 💍🌸

Meet the Couple:
Bride: Libby
Groom: Cris
Wedding Date: April 27th
Ceremony Venue: The Paseo, Apache Junction
Reception Venue: The Henry, Phoenix
The Beginning of Your Love Story:
Libby and Cris’s love story began with a party of a mutual friend.
The Proposal:
Cris popped the question while we were spending the day visiting our favorite spots in Downtown Detroit. When we got to Belle Isle, he asked me to marry him in front of the Detroit River.
The Wedding Details:
Our wedding style was modern and minimalistic. I really wanted to make the wedding comfortable and intimate for our guests rather than focusing/revolving the wedding around a theme.
Why Your Venue?:
It is drop-dead gorgeous. The Paseo has Superstition mountain behind the altar with pops of green from the Arizona desert. We thought it was a beautiful, dynamic backdrop.
The Dress:
I said Yes to the Dress at Luxe Bridal Boutique in Michigan. The designer was Calla Blanche.
The Bride’s Favorite Moment:
Haing all of our loved ones in one place at one time. And the cheesecake!
What was your Top Priority in Planning?:
For us, the most important aspect of planning our wedding was staying within a budget while also finding high-quality vendors to work with.

But wait, there’s more! Be mindful of holidays and long weekends. While a holiday wedding can be fabulous, it’s essential to consider the availability of your guests and vendors. Plus, those long weekends might be perfect for a destination celebration!
Lastly, consult the stars – literally! Astrology enthusiasts, this one’s for you. Some believe that choosing a wedding date based on astrological compatibility can lead to a lifetime of marital bliss.

3. The Budget Breeze:
- Let’s talk numbers, but keep it merry! Before visions of sugarplums and wedding bells dance in your head, chat with your partner about the budget. Whether you’re dreaming of a winter wonderland or a tropical escape, knowing your budget helps make those dreams a reality. Embrace the festive vibes and make budgeting a team effort.

Wedding Wisdom: 5 Etiquette Tips You Didn’t See Coming!
Hey there, lovely brides and grooms-to-be! As you waltz down the aisle of wedding planning, there are a few dance steps you might not have practiced. Fear not! We’ve got the inside scoop on some wedding etiquette tips that will have you twirling through your big day with grace and charm. Let’s dive in, shall we?
1. RSVP Reality Check:
- You sent out those gorgeous invites, and now you’re eagerly awaiting the RSVPs. But here’s the twist – not everyone knows what RSVP means (cue collective gasp). Add a little note explaining it, and you’ll save yourself from a guessing game of who’s a yes, no, or just lost the invitation in the mail.

2. Gift Gratitude:
- While everyone loves receiving gifts, the unwritten rule is that you have three months post-wedding to send out those heartfelt thank-you cards. Pro-tip: Make it personal! Mention the specific gift and let your guests know how much you appreciate their thoughtful gesture. It’s like sprinkling extra love confetti.

3. Unplugged Plea:
- We get it; Uncle Bob loves his camera. Have your officiant kindly ask your guests to unplug during the ceremony. Why? So everyone can soak in the moment without smartphones playing peek-a-boo in the aisle shots. Plus, your professional photos will thank you!

4. Plus-One Prowess:
- The plus-one puzzle can be a head-scratcher. Here’s the secret: If your guests are in a committed relationship or married, it’s courteous to invite them as a pair. But if someone is single, don’t feel pressured to find them a wedding date. Solo guests can have a blast too!

5. Kid Conundrum:
- To invite or not to invite the little ones? It’s a real dilemma. If you decide on a child-free affair, make this clear on the invitation. You could even arrange a babysitter for your guests’ peace of mind. If kiddos are welcome, consider adding a touch of magic with a kid-friendly corner – think coloring books and candy buffets!

Remember, every wedding is a unique masterpiece, and these tips are just the beginning of your etiquette adventure. So, put on your dancing shoes and twirl through the wedding planning waltz with these fun and fabulous etiquette tips! Happy planning, lovebirds! 🕊️💍💖 #WeddingWisdom #EtiquetteElegance #BridalBlissTips ✨🎩✨
Beauty Bootcamp: Mastering Your Hair/Makeup Trial Like a Pro!
Hey there, fabulous soon-to-be bride or glam goddess! As you’re gearing up to look drop-dead gorgeous on your big day, we’ve got the lowdown on what you need to know before diving into that hair and makeup trial. So, grab a cup of cocoa, cozy up, and let’s spill the tea on getting glam for the grand celebration!
1. Be the Queen of Pinterest (But Don’t Go Overboard!)
We get it – you’ve been Pin-spired! You’ve got boards dedicated to every shade of eyeshadow and hairstyle under the sun. But here’s the scoop: while it’s awesome to have inspo, don’t go all “Pinterest crazy” and end up with a mishmash of styles. Remember, you want a look that’s uniquely you. So, pick a few faves, show them to your stylist, and let them work their magic. You’re not crafting a clone; you’re crafting the most radiant version of yourself!
2. Timing is Everything (Yes, Even for Beauty!)
Sure, we all know weddings have their own clock, but did you know your hair and makeup trial needs its own little time zone too? Don’t squeeze it in like an afterthought. Schedule that trial well in advance to avoid any eleventh-hour beauty stress. Plus, it gives you the chance to tweak and perfect until you’re strutting down the aisle with confidence. And, let’s be real, who doesn’t want an excuse to feel pampered and preened?
3. Bring Your Glam Squad (AKA, Your Honest BFFs!)
Forget about going solo – bring your entourage! Your besties are your secret weapons when it comes to getting real opinions. They know you better than anyone and can spot when a cat-eye is just not your vibe. Plus, it’s a great excuse for a pre-wedding gathering. Pop the champagne, let the laughs flow, and turn your hair and makeup trial into a pre-celebration celebration. Bonus tip: Snapchat filters might make us look flawless, but your besties will give you the real-deal advice. Trust them, they got your back!
In a nutshell, your hair and makeup trial is like a dress rehearsal for your face (and fabulous locks). Keep it light, have fun, and embrace the process. It’s all about finding the perfect look that makes you feel like the dazzling diva you are. So, whether you’re rocking a themed wedding or planning a celebration fit for a queen, remember to enjoy the journey to glam-ville. Happy primping, lovely! 🌟💄✨

Choosing the Perfect Venue: 10 Questions You Should Ask
Selecting the right venue is one of the most pivotal decisions in the wedding planning process. It sets the tone for your special day and impacts everything from the ambiance to your guests’ overall experience. To ensure you choose the perfect backdrop for your wedding, here are 10 essential questions you should ask when evaluating potential venues.
1. What Dates Are Available?
Before falling in love with a venue, confirm their availability. Some venues book up quickly, especially during peak wedding seasons. Ensure your desired date aligns with the venue’s availability to avoid disappointments.
2. What Is the Maximum Capacity?
Know the venue’s capacity and make sure it comfortably accommodates your guest list. Consider both the seated dinner capacity and the space for dancing and entertainment. It’s essential that your venue doesn’t feel too cramped or overwhelmingly vast for your guest count.
3. What is the Rental Fee and What Does It Include?
Understand the venue’s pricing structure. Inquire about the rental fee, what it includes (tables, chairs, linens, etc.), and if there are any additional costs for setup, cleanup, or overtime. Having a clear understanding of the costs involved helps you stay within your budget. Make sure to ask about tax and any service charges!
4. What Is the Backup Plan for Bad Weather?
If your wedding is planned for an outdoor venue, inquire about their contingency plans for inclement weather. Having a backup location ensures your day will go smoothly, rain or shine.
5. What Restrictions or Regulations Exist?
Every venue has its set of rules and regulations. Ask about restrictions related to decorations, fire limitations, confetti throwing, music volume, alcohol service, and catering options. Make sure these align with your vision for the day and any vendors you plan to hire.
6. What Catering Options Are Available?
Food plays a significant role in any wedding. Some venues have in-house catering, while others allow external catering. If you have a specific caterer in mind or dietary preferences, ensure the venue can accommodate your culinary needs.
7. Is There Ample Parking?
Consider the convenience for your guests. Adequate parking facilities or nearby parking options are crucial, especially if your venue is not in a central location. Confirm the availability of parking and if there are any associated costs.
8. What Does the Venue Look Like at Night?
Visit the venue during the evening to see how it looks when illuminated. Lighting plays a vital role in creating ambiance. Assess the existing lighting and ask if there are options for additional lighting or if it’s possible to bring in professional lighting services.
9. What Support Services Are Provided?
Ask about the support services offered by the venue. Some venues provide venue coordinators, on-site staff, or security services. Having professional support can significantly ease the logistical burden on your big day.
10. What Is the Cancellation and Refund Policy?
No one wants to think about cancellation, but it’s crucial to understand the venue’s policy in case unforeseen circumstances arise. Ask about the cancellation policy, refund structure, and any rescheduling options they offer.
Choosing the perfect venue is a pivotal step in creating the wedding of your dreams. By asking these 10 essential questions, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge needed to make an informed decision. Remember, your wedding venue is more than just a location; it’s the canvas upon which your love story is beautifully painted. So, ask the right questions, visualize your dream wedding, and let your venue be the place where your love story truly begins. Happy planning! 💍🏰✨

REAL WEDDING – Makayla + Kyle
Hey I Do Details Family,
We are thrilled to bring you another heartwarming real wedding feature as part of our monthly series, where we celebrate the love stories that inspire us. Today, we are excited to share the beautiful wedding of Makayla + Kyle, a couple whose love story captured our hearts from the very beginning.
Meet the Couple:
Bride: Makayla
Groom: Kyle
Wedding Date: June 4th
Venue: Windmill House. Prescott
The Beginning of Your Love Story:
We originally met on Tinder. We matched, briefly talked on Snapchat here and there but nothing really came out of it until a year later when I moved into the dorms at ASU. Kyle noticed my picture was of ASU campus and asked if we could hang out. After the first night we met, we were inseparable.
The Proposal:
Kyle popped the question on February 14, 2021. We drove to Red Rock State Park in Sedona, AZ. We had set up a little picnic blanket, brought some games, and of course the essentials: LUNCHABLES! After giving my Valentine’s gift to Kyle, he gave me the best gift I could ever ask for, asking me to be his wife.
The Wedding Details:
The theme was Rustic Romance and color pallets were these beautiful ivory and lots of greenery.
Why Your Venue?:
We wanted an outdoor wedding and we were getting married in June…. In Arizona? Crazy I know. We wanted to get married somewhere a little cooler which is why we chose Prescott. I was born and raised in Indiana so I really wanted a venue with a lot of greenery. Our venue, The Windmill House, had everything we were looking for. What stood out to us the most was the green grass, trees, and a beautiful bridge over a large pond.
The Dress:
My dress story? Buckle in for this one – hopefully this helps another bride!
I went with my sister to get my bridesmaid dress for her wedding. I remember the moment I saw the wedding dress I knew I wanted to have. It was blush pink, sparkly, and everything I ever wanted in a dress. A few months later I booked my own wedding dress appointment at the same David’s Bridal. I had SO many people there. When the consultant brought my dream dress over, she warned me that it was a size 2 (mind you – I was a size 16.) She had me put this dress on and it was horrible. Obviously I hated the way I looked in it and I wanted nothing to do with the dress. She brought another option, white and very plain compared to my dream dress. I felt pretty, and so much pressure to get a dress because I had so many people with me. I ended up getting a dress I was NOT in love with.
A few months later, I flew home to Indiana and wanted to take my mom and grandma to their David’s bridal and try on my dress I had picked out because they were not able to come with me. Once again, I entered the store and saw my dream dress. I couldn’t help it and asked the consultant if I could try it on and guess what? They had my size.
I cried and cried and cried. It was the perfect dress. Needless to say, I bought the dress immediately and had it shipped back to AZ. Don’t be pressured to buy a dress you don’t love! You will know when you find the perfect dress for you. The designer of my dress was Galina Signature from David’s Bridal.
The Bride’s Favorite Moment:
The best part of my wedding day was hearing my husband’s vows – they were so beautiful. We also both had unknowingly wrote the exact same thing in our vows. I mentioned that I loved how he cared for me and always makes sure to take my glasses off when I fall asleep. My husband promised in his vows to always keep taking my glasses of when I fall asleep. <3
What was your Top Priority in Planning?:
My husband and I wanted to keep our wedding on the small and intimate side so we could enjoy the presence of all of our guests. It was also very important to me, that all the details and decor really fit into my style / aesthetic.
Why I Choose I Do Details!:
I remember talking to Jeanette the first time, and she seemed so caring and passionate about the services that she was able to provide. We 100% made the correct choice with Jeanette and I Do Details.
A Tip from the Couple:
This day is about you and your partner – not your parents, family, friends, etc. Easier said than done, but try to not let your plans get overrun by the wants of others.
Some people were extremely upset that our wedding was child free (with the exception of my 9yr old nephew, our ring security) – but that is what my partner and I wanted and I am glad we carried through with what we wanted.

Smart Strategies for Wedding Dress Shopping
Embarking on the journey to find your dream wedding dress is undoubtedly one of the most exciting parts of wedding planning. To ensure you find the perfect gown without any stress, here are three essential tips to consider during your wedding dress shopping adventure:
Start Early and Do Your Research:
Begin your wedding dress shopping well in advance to allow ample time for browsing, trying on various styles, and making a decision without feeling rushed. Start by researching bridal designers and boutiques in your area. Explore their collections online, read customer reviews, and get a sense of their pricing range. This groundwork will help you identify stores that align with your style preferences and budget.
Additionally, consider creating a Pinterest board or a physical scrapbook with pictures of dresses you love. This visual reference will be incredibly helpful when you start shopping, allowing you to communicate your preferences effectively to the bridal consultants.
Be Open-Minded and Willing to Experiment:
While having a specific style in mind is great, be open to trying on dresses that you might not have considered initially. Wedding dress shopping is all about experimentation. Dresses can look very different on a hanger than they do on your body, so be willing to step out of your comfort zone. You might be pleasantly surprised by a silhouette or fabric that you hadn’t considered.
Listen to the advice of experienced bridal consultants. They often have valuable insights and might suggest styles that flatter your body shape beautifully. Don’t shy away from exploring various necklines, sleeve lengths, and skirt styles to find what suits you best.
Consider the Hidden Costs and Plan for Alterations:
When budgeting for your wedding dress, remember to account for alterations, which are almost always necessary to achieve that perfect fit. Alteration costs can vary based on the complexity of the dress, so it’s wise to set aside a portion of your budget specifically for this purpose.
Additionally, factor in the cost of accessories such as veils, shoes, and jewelry. These elements play a crucial role in completing your bridal look and should be included in your overall dress budget.
Lastly, inquire about the cleaning and preservation services offered by the boutique. Preserving your dress after the wedding ensures it remains in pristine condition as a cherished keepsake.
By starting early, staying open-minded, and planning for all associated costs, your wedding dress shopping experience will be not only enjoyable but also successful. Happy dress hunting! 💖👗✨
Elegant Elegies: A Symphony of Luxury in Halloween-Themed Weddings
In the twilight of October, when the leaves dance in shades of crimson and the air is laced with the scent of pumpkin spice, there comes a celebration that merges the spooky with the splendid – Halloween-themed weddings. While Halloween traditionally evokes images of haunted houses and jack-o’-lanterns, envision a luxurious twist to this spooky affair. Picture a wedding where opulence meets the eerie, where the ethereal and the elegant intertwine seamlessly, creating an ambiance that’s hauntingly beautiful. Welcome to the world of Luxury Halloween-Themed Weddings, where macabre meets magnificence, and enchantment dances with extravagance.
Setting the Stage: A Tapestry of Luxury and Spookiness
A luxury Halloween-themed wedding is all about setting the right atmosphere. Imagine a grand ballroom adorned with gilded candelabras casting flickering candlelight, where the tables are draped in rich fabrics of deep purples and midnight blacks. Elegant silverware and crystal glasses catch the glow of eerie, dim lighting, creating an enchanting aura. Opulent flower arrangements featuring deep red roses, black calla lilies, and dark dahlias are juxtaposed against accents of gold and silver, evoking a sense of mystery and romance.
The Enchanting Invitations: A Prelude to Elegance
The first glimpse of the wedding’s extravagance is often through the invitations. In a luxury Halloween-themed wedding, invitations are not merely pieces of paper; they are gateways to the magical realm the couple intends to create. Picture invitations adorned with intricate lace, embellished with gold foil, and sealed with blood-red wax. Delicate illustrations of bats, ravens, and intricate cobwebs add a touch of the eerie, while luxurious calligraphy spells out the details with elegance. Each invitation becomes a keepsake, a prelude to the enchantment that awaits.
Bridal Elegance: A Symphony in Black and Gold
For the bride who wishes to embrace the Halloween theme without compromising on luxury, envision a gown that marries darkness and dazzle. A black wedding dress, crafted from the finest silk and lace, adorned with subtle hints of gold embroidery, is the epitome of elegance. The dress might feature a dramatic train reminiscent of a midnight sky, trailing behind the bride like a ghostly wisp. To complement the attire, imagine a bouquet of deep, velvety flowers, intertwined with strands of pearls and delicate gold accents.
Groom’s Grandeur: Masculine Mystique in Monochrome
The groom, too, can embody the Halloween spirit while exuding sophistication. A tailored black suit, paired with a deep burgundy or midnight blue tie, exudes refined masculinity. For a touch of the macabre, consider accessories such as a silver skull-shaped cufflink or a tiepin reminiscent of a raven’s feather. These subtle elements add a dash of mystery without compromising the elegance of the ensemble.
Spectral Delights: Haute Cuisine with a Spooky Twist
In a luxury Halloween-themed wedding, the culinary experience is elevated to an art form. Imagine a menu that tantalizes the taste buds while embracing the theme of the night. A sumptuous feast might include dishes like truffle-infused pumpkin soup served in elegant, intricately designed bowls, and exquisite mains such as braised lamb shanks in a red wine reduction, plated with artistic precision. Desserts, too, can embrace the theme; picture a decadent black forest cake adorned with edible silver leaf and blood-red cherries, or delicate macarons with a surprise filling of blackberry and dark chocolate ganache.
Spellbinding Entertainment: Where Magic Meets Luxury
Entertainment is a crucial aspect of any wedding, and in a luxury Halloween-themed celebration, it takes on a whole new dimension. Imagine a string quartet dressed in gothic attire, playing hauntingly beautiful melodies that fill the air. Alternatively, a live band might take the stage, their music weaving a tale of love and mystery. For a touch of magic, consider hiring illusionists or magicians who can mesmerize the guests with their sleight of hand, leaving them in awe of the supernatural wonders they’ve witnessed.
Ethereal Décor: Transforming Spaces into Otherworldly Realms
The décor of a luxury Halloween-themed wedding is where creativity knows no bounds. Think of towering centerpieces made of twisted branches and black roses, interspersed with flickering LED candles that cast eerie shadows. How To Create Table Settings Like A Pro
When you’re putting together a special event or dinner party, one of the most important things to get right is the table setting. There’s nothing like hosting an event with a well-executed table setting that shows just how much attention and care has been put into every detail. Here are some tips on how to create table settings like a pro.
Choose the Right Theme
The first step in creating stunning table settings is to pick the right theme for your tablescape. The type of event and atmosphere you’re trying to create should be reflected in the theme, so think about what kind of vibes your guests will appreciate. Do you want to go for something classic and elegant, or something more creative and modern? Whatever it is, picking the right theme will make sure that everything else flows as it should.
Pick Your Color Palette
Once you’ve decided on a theme for your tablescape, the next step is to choose a color palette that reflects this theme. You might want to keep it neutral if you’re going for an understated look, or go bold with bright colors if you’re looking for something more eye-catching. This color palette should be followed throughout all aspects of your table set up – from napkins to glasses and chargers – since this will help tie everything together and keep it cohesive.
Select Your Linens
Linen selection can be overwhelming but also make or break a tablescape so it pays off to give it some thought! When picking out linens, consider texture as well as color; cotton or linen fabrics often make good choices as they drape nicely and don’t wrinkle too easily which helps keeps things looking neat. If linen isn’t available there are lots of other fabrics that could work too! Just make sure that whatever fabric you choose complements both the event setting and any decorations/tableware you may have chosen already.
Utilize Placemats & Napkins
Placemats are great for adding extra color and texture to your tablescape while keeping plates in place during meals – try mixing different materials (wooden ones typically work best here) along with complementary colored cloth napkins! Not only do placemats & napkins look great but they also protect surfaces from food spills & provide guests with something nice & clean they can use when eating – bonus points if they match the overall colour scheme of course!
Add Special Touches
Adding special touches like greenery or fresh flowers can really make your tablescapes stand out – whether its plants suspended from chandeliers above or individual vases at each place setting, these little details can really bring life into any space! If budget is an issue potted herbs such as rosemary/oregano/basil etc can combine wonderfully with candles & beautiful serving dishes (they smell amazing too!). Alternatively faux florals/greenery are less expensive options if real life plants aren’t possible – selecting things that match colour wise goes a long way here!
Let Guests Know Where They’re Sitting
Last but definitely not least make sure all of your guests know where their place settings are by placing name cards beside each plate – this makes sure there’s no confusion over who’s sitting where which helps keeps things running smoothly throughout dinner service time! Depending on the type of occasion getting creative with names cards is always appreciated too (hand lettering them etc).
At the end of the day whatever method you decide on just makes sure everyone knows where they’re meant to sit so all can enjoy their meal without any fuss!
How to Prep Your Skin for the Wedding Day
One of the most important things you’ll do in preparation for your wedding day is to get your skin ready. Great skin is essential for a beautiful, glowing complexion, and it takes some time and effort to get there. Here are a few tips for prepping your skin so that you look and feel your best on your big day.
Cleanse Regularly
The first step in prepping your skin is to start a regular cleansing routine. To keep your skin healthy and balanced during the weeks leading up to the wedding, use a gentle cleanser in the morning and evening. This will help remove dirt, makeup, oil, and other impurities from your face without over-drying or stripping away vital oils from it. Make sure to also exfoliate at least once or twice per week as this will ensure that dead cells are removed from the surface of the skin and that new cells can be generated for a more youthful appearance.
Drink Plenty of Water
Another key part of prepping your skin is to drink plenty of water each day. Drinking water helps hydrate your body from within which keeps skin looking fresh and vibrant. Staying hydrated also helps fight bloating and puffiness around the eyes which often happens when you’re stressed—a common occurrence while planning a wedding! Try drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day or more if you can manage it; this will not only make sure that you’re well hydrated but will also help flush out toxins which can cause breakouts or dryness.
Moisturize & Protect
Finally make sure to choose products wisely when prepping for the big day – using lightweight moisturizers that won’t clog pores can prevent breakouts and leave you feeling fresh without looking greasy – don’t forget facial sunscreen with high SPF ratings aimed towards protecting sensitive areas like under eyes where wrinkles tend to form. Adding night creams that contain hyaluronic acid can reduce signs of aging while serums containing vitamins C & E can give an extra boost by promoting collagen production in the dermal layer giving us that long lasting glow we want on our special day!
Working with the right brand can make all the difference when it comes to getting your skin glowing for your big day! One local business we love working with is Molloglow in Scottsdale, Arizona. Not only do they have amazing services offered onsight but they have some fantastic products you can take home with you as well. Make sure to try out their custom and advanced facial treatment plans made specifically for you and your schedule!
Eat Nutritious Foods
In order to maintain healthy looking skin all throughout wedding season, focus on eating whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean proteins like fish and tofu, nuts seeds and legumes, healthy fats like olive oil, avocados etc., as well as antioxidant rich foods such as berries (blueberries) or dark green veggies (kale). Eating an abundance of nutritious food helps nourish our bodies from within; this nourishment then shows up on our faces! This kind of diet also increases energy levels which definitely helps with stress management during what might be an intense period of wedding planning.
Avoid Potential Skin Irritants
As much as possible avoid anything that could potentially irritate or worsen existing issues with your skin such as harsh soaps/cleansers/exfoliants, prolonged exposure to sun without protection (always wear sunscreen!), touching/picking at acne/blemishes/scars etc., wearing too much makeup etc.. All these things can cause further irritation/damage and take away any progress we’ve made in prepping our skin prior to getting married!
Overall taking good care of our skin before embarking on this very special journey is essential – looking after ourselves now will set us up in good stead going into such an exciting event in our lives! So kick back, relax & enjoy being pampered all while knowing how fabulous you’ll look come ‘that’ day!
How to Choose Your Wedding Date
Choosing the right wedding date can seem like an overwhelming task, but it’s actually an incredibly important part of planning your special day. With so many factors to consider and so much pressure to get it right, how do you know what the ideal wedding date should be? Here are five tips that can help you select a memorable and meaningful wedding date.
Consider the season.
While some couples may not be fussy about the weather, there are advantages and disadvantages to each time of year when choosing your wedding date. Spring and Fall weddings in Arizona usually have milder weather for outdoor ceremonies and receptions, while winter weddings are more likely to involve additional costs for heaters or fireplaces in order to keep guests warm during the ceremony and reception. Venue availability also needs to be taken into consideration; peak season months like October through May tend to book up quickly, so if this is an important factor in your decision then plan accordingly!
Think About Holidays
Another step in determining a perfect wedding date is by taking into account any major holidays or special events that could potentially conflict with your plans. This includes anniversaries, birthdays or other significant occasions such as graduations or family reunions. It’s also helpful to ensure that your proposed wedding day doesn’t take away from other pre-existing commitments such as work trips or vacations that would prevent important people from attending or being part of preparations.
Three day wedding weekends can be a great way to make your special day even more memorable. Having your friends and family come celebrate with you can make the occasion even better, but this can often mean airline ticket prices for out-of-town guests are much higher than usual. While the extra cost is worth it for some, it can be a burden for those who have a tight budget.
Schedule around Traditions
Take into consideration any cultural differences between both sides of the families which may need specific days/times set aside for traditional customs/traditions during the marriage ceremony; this will ensure that everyone feels respected regardless of their traditions or beliefs associated with these ceremonies. Additionally determine any travel requirements for both families too – bear in mind distances between them all involved – guest invitations will naturally require some degree of travel for everyone!
Review Any Legal Requirements
Outdoor weddings can be beautiful and scenic, but couples need to remember that a park permit is essential for hosting a wedding in a public park. Without it, the couple could risk fines or being asked to move the wedding to another location. A park permit ensures that the event adheres to all necessary regulations and that the couple has exclusive access to the park during their special day.
Also look into what legal requirements need to be fulfilled; apply for a marriage license, obtain any special permissions etc.? All these must be accounted for prior to booking anything else related directly with ‘The Big Day’ itself! Finally try to establish if anyone has conflicting dates already planned such as honeymoons, birthdays/anniversaries etc., making sure these don’t inadvertently clash with chosen one (as best possible).
Choosing your dream wedding day has never been easy… however its importance is critical in ensuring everything runs smoothly on ‘The Big Day’ itself! Hopefully these tips above will make things easier when ultimately deciding upon an unforgettable day within future memories forever!
5 Things to Do Now That You’re Engaged!
Congratulations! You just got engaged – and now it’s time to get the party started! This exciting new chapter in your life involves plenty of planning for your special day. Before diving into all that though, here are some fun activities to do with your partner now that you’re both officially taken:
Take an Engagement Photo Shoot.
Document your newfound happiness with a romantic photo shoot of the two of you! This is a great way to capture this love-filled moment and remember it forever. Have fun picking out cute outfits and finding the perfect backdrop or location for the photoshoot.
Celebrate With Close Friends & Family.
After you share your engagement picture, it’s time to break out the bubbly! Get together with close friends and family members who were there along your journey and share this joyous news with them in person. Raise a toast, laugh, reminisce – make sure everyone knows how happy you two are!
Make a New Adventure Together.
Now is the best time to take a mini-vacation together before all of the wedding planning begins. Whether it’s outdoor camping or beach hopping (Maybe both!), make sure to step away from reality for at least a few days by going on an adventure just for the two of you – after all, it’s not every day that you get engaged!
Start Dreaming Up Wedding Theme Ideas Together.
Now that you have begun thinking about marriage, start thinking up ideas for what kind of wedding theme would fit perfectly with each other’s style as a couple? Whether it’s modern chic or something more rustic-inspired? This is also a great opportunity to get creative with each other while brainstorming different possibilities in order to create a truly unique wedding theme that reflects both of your personalities perfectly!
Write Out Your Love Story To Remember and Share!
For those who weren’t able to witness how amazing your love story has been, compile notes from each stage together and write out an adorable narrative about how it all began (and then ended up here). You can even read this story aloud during the reception where everyone can hear about how special and meaningful this journey was for the two of you ––it will definitely bring tears to everyone’s eyes!
Getting engaged doesn’t just mean wedding planning – there are so many good things happening right now too! Make sure not to forget those moments by taking part in some meaningful activities where you can remember why love brought such happiness into your lives in the first place. Best of luck on this crazy ride called engagement – enjoy every second before embarking on married bliss!
Wedding Venues to Consider Based on Your Aesthetic

With so many choices, it can be hard to narrow down the ones that feel most like you as a couple. That’s why we put together this list of unique wedding venues based on your personal aesthetic!

Whether it’s on the beach or in a forest, creating a rustic setting with a white canvas tent can turn any outdoor space into your dream wedding venue. Add string lights and flower garlands to accentuate the natural beauty of your surroundings and don’t forget to add comfortable seating so your guests can relax while they watch you say “I do”!
For the Classic Couple
For a classic vibe without all the frills, consider venues like country clubs or ballrooms. These spaces offer a traditional look and feel that is perfect for those looking for an intimate wedding. Choose from chandeliers, marble floors, or velvet curtains to help create a romantic atmosphere.
For the Artistic Couple
For those couples seeking something truly unique, consider venues like art galleries or botanical gardens. These off-the-beaten path settings are ideal if you’re looking for a breathtaking backdrop that’s sure to make your wedding stand out from the rest. Three Tips for a Cozy Christmas-Inspired Wedding
Christmas is one of the most magical times of the year, and it only makes sense to bring that festive spirit into your big day. If you’re looking for a unique way to tie your wedding together, why not make it Christmas-inspired? Here are a few tips for creating a cozy, romantic Christmas-inspired wedding:
Get creative with decorations
Decorating is key when it comes to making your venue look like a true winter wonderland. Think beyond classic reds and greens; incorporate deep blues, rich golds and bright whites to create an elegant yet whimsical atmosphere. Fill vases with pine cones and fairy lights, hang wreaths adorned with ornaments, or wrap branches in white lights for a modern take. The possibilities are endless!
Serve up something special
Christmas is all about comfort food, so why not bring a taste of it to your wedding menu? Bring in warm seasonal favorites like hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies for guests to munch on between courses. For the main meal, serve up dishes like traditional turkey dinner or roasted chestnuts with carrots and rosemary. Pull out all the stops with festive cocktails like eggnog martinis or cranberry sangria to get everyone into the holiday spirit.
Make use of Christmas music
Music sets the tone for any event, but especially for weddings. To really embrace the Christmas-inspired theme, play classic carols and timeless tunes during dinner to help your guests get into the holiday spirit. Or pick out a few of your favorite Christmas songs for that first dance as newlyweds!
Get creative with your venue
If you’re getting married in the winter months, consider incorporating some of nature’s beauty into your decorations. Deck out a nearby tree with twinkling lights and ornaments, hang greenery from the ceiling for a festive touch, or even find a spot to host an outdoor ceremony surrounded by snow-covered trees.
Wrap up favors
Don’t forget about gifts for your guests! Send them off with something special, like wooden stars decorated with holiday phrases or miniature pine trees adorned with holly. Or, if you have time before the big day, make DIY hot chocolate mix favors complete with marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, and peppermint stirrers as a sweet reminder of your special celebration.
Keep an eye out for winter sales
Shopping for wedding decorations can get pricey if you don’t plan ahead. So start on the hunt early and keep an eye out for deals or discounts on winter décor, such as ornaments, garlands, stockings, and more. You can also check out popular online stores for holiday-inspired décor that won’t break the bank.
No matter how you choose to incorporate a Christmas-inspired theme into your wedding, be sure to have fun with it! Get creative with your decorations, serve up comforting seasonal dishes, and make use of classic holiday music. Your guests will love the festive touches and all the extra effort you put into making your wedding unique. With these tips, you’ll have everything you need for a cozy Christmas-inspired celebration that your guests won’t soon forget.
How to Create an Amazing Atmosphere for Guests That Dance All Night Long
Girl, you’ve put in the WORK! Thanks to the tireless efforts of you & your planner, your wedding details are finally coming together. But, there’s one thing left to think about and it can seem like it’s out of your control: your wedding’s atmosphere. Luckily, WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED! In this article, we’re highlighting a few of our best tips on how to curate a fun & funky atmosphere for your wedding that will keep your guests dancing all night long.
Create an Unforgettable Atmosphere with the Right Venue
To ensure your guests have plenty of space to dance and move around, it’s essential that you choose the perfect venue. Not only should there be ample room for everyone to show out on the dance floor, but also a great sound system so the music can really get everyone in the dancing mood! Don’t be afraid to rely on your planner for this! They know the best spots around town & will be able to provide you with tips on how to set up the space accordingly.
Choose the Right Dance Floor
Okay, but what size of dance floor should you choose? A good rule of thumb is to have 3 square feet of floor for every two guests. Planning on hosting 150 people at your wedding? Rent a 15’ by 15’ dance floor. 200 guests? Go for one that’s at least 18’ by 18’. Choosing a dance floor big enough for everyone to really let loose and have fun is essential for an unforgettable night.
Play Upbeat Music
Make sure to play energetic music! Get your guests moving on the dance floor with a mix of upbeat, fast, and slow songs that everyone will enjoy. Bring some extra motivation by hiring a live band or DJ to keep everyone engaged. You can get even more funky & have your guests recommend songs to keep the night going. (But keep in mind, Uncle Bob might suggest his karaoke song from the glory days, yikes.) You know your crowd best, so tailor your playlist to ensure that there’s something for everyone!
Encourage Guests to Mingle
If you want your guests to really let their hair down and enjoy the occasion, make sure they feel at ease interacting with one another. Provide plenty of comfortable seating and serving spots throughout the venue to encourage mingling. Get everyone in the party spirit with fun activities like a photo booth or lawn games set up around the reception. Lean on your planner for this one as they can recommend some sweet lounge seating or photobooths.
Offer Tasty Refreshments
Ensure your guests stay energized and hydrated to keep the party going all night long! Set up a self-serve drink station or have servers circulating with trays of delicious refreshments or a late-night snack. Keep those refreshments coming to keep those energy levels up!
With these tips, you’ll be well on your way to crafting a celebration that will get your guests up and dancing all night long! If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to reach out! At I Do Details, we’re here to help!
A Guide to a Bridesmaid’s List of Responsibilities
YAY! You’ve been asked to be a bridesmaid! Standing beside a close friend or family member on one of the most important days of her life is both an honor and a privilege. That responsibility comes with a lot of excitement, unforgettable moments, and a whole lot of fun! However (and we hate to break it to you), being a bridesmaid isn’t just about bachelorette parties and champagne. But don’t worry, that’s where we come in! In this article, we’ve put together a quick guide to help you understand your duties and responsibilities as a bridesmaid so that your expectations are crystal clear. (P.S. If you’re a bride, keep reading! This blog will come in handy for you, too!)
The first and perhaps most important responsibility of a bridesmaid is to be there for the bride. This means being available during the wedding planning process, offering emotional support during stressful times (when she needs it), and just being a good friend. In Roman times, bridesmaids were chosen to stand beside the couple to ward off jealous suitors on their wedding day so remember to keep that in mind as part of your responsibilities. (Okay, we’re TOTALLY joking, but yes, they really did do that & you get the picture!)
Another key responsibility is to plan and attend all pre-wedding events, such as the bridal shower and bachelorette party. Need some inspo for planning? Scroll down to read about our best bachelorette party ideas in Phoenix/Scottsdale!
On the day of the wedding, bridesmaids are responsible for helping the bride get ready and keeping her calm. It’s a big job, we know. But luckily, the wedding planner is there to assist too, so you’re not alone! (Maybe just have a few tissues on hand!)
During the ceremony, bridesmaids will typically walk down the aisle ahead of the bride and stand at the altar with her. After the ceremony, they’ll help her celebrate by getting the party started and the crowd full of energy in the reception hall as the newly married couple prepare to make their grand entrance! Think of yourself as part of the “hype crew” and get those energy levels to a 10!
At the reception, bridesmaids will often give a speech, dance with the groom’s men, and generally help to keep the party going. They may also be called upon to deliver the bride and groom’s presents to their home or to help with decor at the end of the night.
As you can see, being a bridesmaid is a big responsibility! But it’s also a lot of fun. If you’re honored with the task, make sure you’re up for it before saying yes. And most importantly, enjoy yourself! After all, it’s not every day that you get to be part of your best friend’s wedding.

How to Create a Shot List for Your Wedding Photographer
One of the most important parts of any wedding day includes stunning photos to remember the occasion. In order to make sure your photographer captures all the special moments, it helps to provide them with a shot list.
A shot list is simply a list of all the must-have photos you would like taken on your wedding day. This could include posed shots with family and friends, as well as candid shots of you and your new spouse enjoying the day. To help you get started, we’ve compiled a list of some important shots to consider adding to your list.
Before we get started, it’s important to discuss with your photographer what your package includes. There’s no point in adding “getting ready” shots to your list if you’ve only booked your photographer for the ceremony and reception. Be sure to talk to your planner first about what pictures are most important to you so that they can recommend a package that accommodates your vision!
1. The Kiss
It may sound obvious, but this is arguably the most important photo of the day, so make sure it’s on your shot list! Have your photographer position themselves in a spot where they can get a good view of you and your partner while still remaining unobtrusive. Pro tip: remind your officiant to step out of the way right before the kiss so that he’s not in an awkward position in your photo! Also, a mid-aisle kiss is always a great shot to have in your gallery. You get a close-up of the kiss plus your guest’s reactions!
2. The Dress
Your wedding dress is one of the most important aspects of your big day, so of course you’ll want some beautiful photos of you wearing it! Add a few different shots to your list, such as closeups of intricate details like beading or lace, as well as full-length shots that show off the entire dress. In fact, be sure to include every detail shot you can think of- from stationary to jewelry! Afterall, you’ll want to remember the small details, too!
3. The Rings
Your wedding rings are symbols of your love and commitment, so they deserve to be captured on film! Add a few ring shots to your list, such as closeups of the rings alone or shots of you and your spouse holding hands and showing them off. Pro tip: Rings look great resting on florals, so you can’t go wrong with positioning them on your bouquet!
4. The First Look
If you choose to do a first look—where you and your S/O see each other for the first time before the ceremony—make sure it’s captured on camera! This moment is always emotional and intimate, so it’s definitely worth remembering with photos.
5. Ceremony Shots
Some couples choose to have their ceremony photographed in its entirety, while others prefer more creative angled shots or even drone footage. Talk to your photographer about your vision and add those specific shots to your list accordingly. Pro tip: Pinterest is a great resource for inspo pics!
6. Family Formals
After the ceremony is complete, it’s time for family formals—photos with parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. If there are any large groupings you would like photographed (such as all the cousins), make sure to mention that to your photographer ahead of time so they can be prepared. Pro tip: Add the first names of your family members to this list so your photographer will be able to call them up when it’s their time to shine!
7. Guest Candids

A Guide to Choosing Ceremony Music for Your Wedding Day
Selecting the music for your wedding ceremony can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be! There are lots of great resources out there to help you choose the perfect songs for your ceremony. Today, we’re going to give you a crash course in wedding ceremony music so that you can feel confident on your big day!
When choosing ceremony music, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, think about what type of atmosphere you want to create. Do you want it to be romantic? Fun and festive? Formal and elegant? Once you’ve decided on the overall tone, you can start narrowing down your choices.
When thinking about music for your wedding ceremony, one of the first tasks will be to select songs for the processional. The processional music plays as the wedding couple and their wedding party make their way down the aisle. Pro tip: The processional is a great opportunity to include a song choice from the groom. Don’t be afraid to ask for his input in order to pick a song that’s meaningful to the both of you.
Some popular (& more traditional) processional songs include “Canon in D” by Pachelbel or “Here Comes the Bride” by Wagner. Another popular option that has made its debut in the past few years is “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. Alternatively, you could choose a piece of instrumental music that is special to you. For example, is there a song that you and your partner danced to at your first date or your proposal? Is there a song that has particular significance to you and your family? This is the perfect time to think outside the box and showcase your personality! Even if it’s not the most elegant song in the world, there’s more than likely an instrumental version out there!
Once you’ve selected your processional music, it’s time to focus on the recessional song. The recessional music is played at the end of the ceremony as you & your wedding party make your way back up the aisle. This song should be upbeat and celebratory – after all, you’re officially married now, so it’s time to celebrate! Some popular recessional tunes include “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” by Stevie Wonder, “I Do” by Colbie Caillat, and “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole.
The last thing to consider when choosing your music is the overall length of your ceremony. For example, if you’re having a short ceremony, recorded music may be fine. However, if you’re planning a longer ceremony with multiple readings or other components, live music may be a better option so that there are no awkward pauses in between pieces.
Most importantly, remember to choose music that is meaningful to you. With these tips in mind, you’ll be sure to create a beautiful wedding ceremony that you & your guests will remember for years to come.
5 Corporate Event Ideas That Are Sure To Wow Your Guests
Are you looking for corporate event ideas that will wow your guests? If so, you have come to the right place! In this blog post, we will discuss five event ideas that are sure to leave a lasting impression on your attendees. From unique venues to creative catering options, there’s so many ways to ensure that your event stands out from the rest.
Host your event at an unexpected venue
One of the most important aspects of planning a corporate event is choosing the right venue. After all, the atmosphere will set the tone for the entire event. If you are looking for a unique venue that will get your guests excited, think about renting a space at a local museum, art gallery, or historic landmark. If you’re local to Phoenix, we recommend venues like the Desert Botanical Garden or The Farm at South Mountain. Say goodbye to stuffy conference centers and hello to something unexpected!
Offer out-of-the-box food options
No corporate event is complete without delicious food and drinks! But instead of opting for the typical catering fare, offer some exciting food options that will tantalize your guests’ taste buds. For example, you could hire a local food truck to cater your event or set up a build-your-own sushi station. Or, offer guests a wine or beer tasting. There are so many ways to step outside the box when it comes to catering, so don’t be afraid to get creative!
Incorporate interactive elements
Make your event truly unforgettable by incorporating interactive elements that will engage and entertain your guests. For example, you could hire a caricature artist or set up a photo-booth. To really wow your attendees, consider renting out a VR booth or hiring a professional escape room company to create a custom experience for your event. Our best advice is to stop thinking about your event as an event, but rather as an experience.
Bring in some entertainment
No matter what type of experience you’re planning, entertainment is always a great way to wow your guests. Consider hiring a band, DJ, comedian, or a celebrity impersonator. Entertainment goes a long way during corporate events, and it’s well worth the effort if you have the budget.
Plan a theme night
To take your corporate event to the next level, plan a themed night. This is a great way to add an element of fun, mystery, and excitement to your event. Some popular themes include casino night, beach party, or masquerade ball. No matter what theme you choose, your guests are sure to have a blast!

6 Best Tips on How to Keep the Dance Floor Full the Entire Night
The venue is booked and the guest list is finally set. Your wedding reception is starting to take shape! But there’s one thing that might seem out of your control: the dance floor. You know that you want your guests to be able to let loose and have some fun, and there’s nothing better than a packed dance floor to make that happen. If you’re worried about your reception dancing getting off to a slow start, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! In this blog post, we’ll give you 6 tips on how to keep the dance floor full all night long.
Let’s get started!
Tip #1: Take a group picture before the dancing starts! This is a great way to get everyone out of their seats and excited about hitting the dance floor. Plus, it’ll make for some great memories (and photos!) down the road.
Tip #2: Make a playlist with a variety of music. This way, everyone will be able to find at least a few songs that they enjoy dancing to. In your playlist, include a good mix of upbeat and slower songs as well as a variety of genres. And if you’re really stuck on what to put on your playlist, ask your wedding planner – they usually have great suggestions!
Tip #3: This tip goes hand-in-hand with the previous tip: take song requests either during or before the reception. This is a great way to make sure that your guests are dancing to the music that they love and it shows that you’re truly invested in making sure everyone has a good time! But of course, stay true to yourself and your music tastes, too!
Tip #4: Ask your wedding planner to recommend a DJ or band with excellent reviews. They’ll be able to direct you to someone who knows how to keep a crowd entertained and moving. Some DJs even supply their own L.E.D. lights that will really enhance the party environment and create an ambiance that will get everyone in the dancing spirit.
Tip #5: Keep the music flowing by having the meal, toasts, and speeches taken care of before the dancing starts. This way, your guests won’t be driven back to their seats half way through dancing. And if you really want to get things started on a high note, ask your DJ or band to play some upbeat music during dinner.
Tip #6: Include some group dances in your playlist. These are always a hit with guests, and they’re a great way to get everyone loose! Some of the classics include the Cupid Shuffle, the Cha Cha Slide, the Electric Slide, the Wobble, Old Town Road, or the Y.M.C.A.
We hope these tips help you keep the dance floor full all night long. Most importantly, remember to encourage your guests to let loose and have fun! The more fun they’re having, the more likely they are to hit the dance floor – and stay there all night long.
